Perhaps the most delicious, refreshing and affordable ice cream we have ever had. The ice cream is made from natural ingredients, such as coconut milk, green beans, taro, cacao and has a unique texture that is not too soft or hard. The ice cream is...sold in different forms, such as cones, sticks, mochi and has a variety of flavors to suit everyone's taste. My personal favorite is the cacao flavoured ice cream popsicle, which is chocolatey, creamy and fragrant. Kem Tràng Tiền is located in the heart of the city right next to the lake and has a spacious and cozy atmosphere, with large open areas and green plants. The staff is somewhat friendly, helpful and the service is fast and efficient. The price is very reasonable, especially for the quality and quantity of the ice cream. You can enjoy your ice cream at the shop or take it home in a box. If you are looking for a place to enjoy a cool and tasty treat, Kem Tràng Tiền is the perfect choice. It's a part of Hanoi's identity, charm and you don't want to miss this.More

Our tour guide recommended this establishment because it had the best ice cream. It was busy when we arrived. We got one vanilla and one chocolate ice cream in cones. They both tasted the same with a hint of coconut. I thought the ice cream...was made with coconut milk - nope.More

We had ice cream mochi which were very nice and cheap, 30,000 VND for three mochi. Check your change carefully if you are a foreigner - the woman shortchanged us by half and gave us lots of silly small notes hoping we wouldn’t notice. She...gave us the full change when we asked for it.More

Ice cream was OK. Foreigners beware of young staff that tries to short chance you. Gave the staff 200000 dong for 1 scoop (15000) and he quickly gave me back 5000. I said not right. Then he rushed and gave me 85000. My mistake for...not counting before leaving. If I were not staying on the other of the lake I would have walked back to get my 100000 dong. Lesson to be learned.More

This place seems to be locals’ favorite, so we gave it a try. When we arrived, it was very crowded, which was a good sign for quality. We picked the “Cốm” flavor. Cốm is made of sticky rice harvested young, yielding a milky, nutty flavor...that is great for making desserts. We normally get our cốm from Hanoi where quality is the best. Being said, the ice cream flavor didn’t resemble real cốm. Also, there is more ice than cream. This is actually what street version of Vietnamese ice cream tastes like. I think locals go here for nostalgia, so if you are curious, give it a try, just don’t expect too much.More

We love this. Always. We were told that this is one of the iconic dishes of Hanoians. The ice cream cones with some flavors are quite basic, the appearance is also basic, but there is a huge crowd to enjoy. Whenever we come here, it's...always crowded. But especially on weekends, it's extremely crowded. You should also try, when visiting Hanoi, Trang Tien Ice Cream.More

This place was always packed with people. You could tell it was a local favourite and has a lot of history associated with it too. The ice cream was good, not the best ever, but it is solid especially for the price and is quick...to grab. Would recommend to check this place out.More

Huge place with tons of places to take pictures of and sit, queues were long but it moved pretty fast. Got the regular vanilla ice cream with cone. Nothing special, it tasted a lot more than ice though, should have tried the sundae instead.

Visited with friends and bought vanilla cones. The ‘ice cream’ was more ice than anything else and tasted of coconut! You’d be better off buying a tub of TH True vanilla ice cream in a supermarket.

This would be the best ice cream in every Hanoian's life as it is associated with our childhood memories. Trang Tien ice cream is made from Vietnamese ingredients (beans, coconut, ...). That makes the taste really amazing. In the past, ice cream was a prize...for me when I got good grades. Also the price is really affordable! Coconut milk is highly recommended! This would be the best experience for you when trying local life in Vietnam!More

The Trang Tien ice cream is delicious, but hard to find. Groceries are full of Celano, Walls or Merino ice cream. Every time i want to buy , you have to search online to find the agents. Now I want to take a look at...the new packaging of this ice cream brand but it's hard to find.More

I first hear about Trang Tien Ice-cream shop from my friend after her trip to Hanoi. She said the shop is the most famous brand for local ice-creams and she highly recommended that I go there on my upcoming trip to Hanoi. Hearing that made...me very excited because who wouldn't want ice-creams on hot summer days? When my husband and I got to Hanoi and spent time planning for the trip to Hoan Kiem Lake and The Old Quarter, we realized that the ice-cream shop is very near there. We also read reviews about the shop's menu and we found the price really cheap, only 12k VND (a bit more than 0.5 USD) for cones, and 10k VND for ice-cream sticks. It seems that the place is refurnished because we saw a photo of the shop in the past, it does look much more beautiful now. We got there in the afternoon, wasn't too crowded and we saw no seats to dine-in (we expected it to be like that thanks to the reviews). The place is clean and bright, the staff was very friendly and luckily she understood English. We were sweating and thirsty so we got quite a lot: 2 vanilla cones, 2 mung bean sticks and 2 young rice sticks. The cones were smaller than I thought and it was too sweet for me. I really enjoyed the other two types, especially the young rice stick. It was a bit more chewy at the end because there are actual young rice bits!! I made a video call with my friend and she was surprised at the new look of the shop. I'll definitely come back!More
