Have been driving past this restaurant for years; today we stopped by for a Sunday lunch. Previous reviews are all accurate; a lovely, homely restaurant still run by the original owners, service was well-informed and discrete. The food is perfectly cooked and presented. Lamb/beef kebabs were great; thick skewers of meat, onion, fresh herbs and pine nuts. The mezze platters are lovely as is the hot pitta bread. Everything including beers was less than 800 BHT! We will be bringing our grown up kids here next weekend!

We have great pleasure in taking family and friends to The Family Restaurant as it is never a disappointment and the food is delicious. The menu is vast - Mediterranean, Italian, Oriental, German and Thai food. We can highly recommend the shawarmas, schnitzel, chilli con carne and fish and chips, to name but a few, and their Thai food is exceptional especially khai kluk kapi (fried rice with shrimp paste). Prices are reasonable and servings are generous.
The owner and his staff are very friendly and attentive. It has a great atmosphere and you must spend a little time reading the messages on all the walls and a walk down the “passage of fame” to the washrooms is essential - take your camera!
I have absolutely no hesitation or reservation in recommending a visit!

I had the pleasure to come across this place. You can feel the ingredients are all natural, and the food is 100% homemade. I also had the pleasure to meet the owner, who has been living in Phuket for the past 21 years, becoming one of the first Israelites on the island and therefore, founding his restaurant along with his lovely Thai wife (both in the picture).
You guys are The Family we all need when we are far from home!
PS. Please order the Malooh Assley (Blauaj or Yaman pancake). It's a really "must-have"!

Highly recommend this restaurant, by far the best Mediterranean food in Phuket, delicious and very authentic.
Fantastic service from the staff especially the owner who made me feel so welcome.
You must check out the music memorabilia collection.... Impressive!
Can't wait to try moussaka on my next visit

Beautiful, inspiring, calm restaurant and extremely tasty Mediterranean food in the heart of Rawai. Restaurant owners exactly know the shapes and flavors of real cuisine. “Family Restaurant” is real Family owned place to visit with family. Various posters will inspire for pleasant mood

I discovered this restaurant post-COVD and I'm so happy I did! I don't usually leave my small area of the island, but now I drive all the way here 4x a week to eat lunch. The food is AMAZING. You can tell they put care into serving quality foods. My favorite dish is the Hummus w/ Chicken Liver. Also, the mixed fruit shakes are the best on the island and the chicken shawarma is delicious! I can't recommend this place enough!

Been coming here for about 13 years years and the quality is always fresh, tasty and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Best falafel and dips I have had in Thailand, and better than I can get in Australia.
Love the Chalong plate and chicken schnitzel in pita.
I normally eat Thai food but the middle Eastern food is great for a change. If you want Thai food it is superb too. Very extensive menu.
Came to Family for a meal and was lucky enough to get invited to share their 20th anniversary.
Lovely owners, same staff for many years so food quality very consistent. You won't be disappointed, well I have never been.

Great family atmosphere, you'll feel welcome even if you're alone. The food is wonderful and it feels like you're eating dinner at your grand parents house. I'll definitely be making regular trips here

Can it get it any better?.What a glorious experience. Delicious food, warm and friendly staff,blues in the background and the owners make you feel like family.What a rarity of a dining experience. I am salivating at the thought of the falafel pita.
Wait ill you see the hall of fame!. A plethora of a life long passion of the musical greats.When your in Phuket, put this place on your must do list.

Great gluten free meal- shwarma, mashed potatoes, salad and gluten free tahini bread. My daughter has celiac and didn’t get sick :) Very helpful with questions!

The food is great, the owners are friendly and delightful. The staff are courteous and their food is outstanding. Their menu includes all types of foods, but we have only tried the Thai food and its great!

What a wonderful change of pace from traditional local fare. It was by far the best non-Thai meal I have had in Thailand! The warm, soft pita bread is obviously baked fresh daily, it just melted in my mouth. I ordered the mousaka (eggplant stuffed with beef) and spare ribs. Both were equally delicious and contained unmatched rich and balanced flavor. I have been to several premier food destinations over the years including New York and San Francisco. I have never had such an authentic home cooked Mediterranean meal! It is a must if you are going to be visiting Phuket! It is not an accident they have been serving up delicious plates for over 20 years. Enjoy 😋
