Good & authentic Thai food with reasonable prices, coming back each time visiting PKT.
Even this time has improved, adding English menu (never existed before), hurrrra!!!!
Next step is to provide waiters who speak some English to explain dishes!

We ate dinner here on the recommendation of one of the receptionists at our hotel.
She recommended 3 or 4 and told me to Google to see what we fancied. W went for this unpretentious local restaurant away from the beach and it proves you can still get excellent food and outstanding value for money even in Patong. We spent considerably under 1000 Baht and had plenty to eat and beers (expect younger people with larger appetites might spend a bit more). I had delicious belly pork.

Was recommended this place by my tour agency owner(he booked all my drivers & ferry transfer) who doubled as my driver for this particular trip ..
Hard to find parking in the late afternoom before dinner but the nice food was worth it..
We ordered 10 dishes & knew once the food started arriving , that we will not be able to finish it & set aside portions to be packed into takeaway boxes..
The food turned to be much better than the typical food i had at restaurants nearer to touristy areas near Beach Road & Junceylon which i normally go to.. there were a lot of choices on the menu..
It was the best meal i had amongst all my earlier Thailand trips including Bangkok, Krabi Town , Phi Phi & Koh Lanta..
10 dishes with 2 beverages costs me slightly more than 2000 bahts & it was worth every cent..

Staff speak absolutely no English and are totally out of their depth even taking basic food orders or preparing the bill. Food is by far the worst we’ve had in our 7 days in Phuket. There are plenty of great places you can eat here in the island, choose those places and not this one

This was the best Thai food I had in Patong
Great ambience and big menu.
I asked for one dish to be Thai spicy and Kaab Gluay delivered the hottest Thai curry that I have tried.

One of the ladies at out hotel Reception recommended this restaurant. In the evening I confirmed the directions with another Reception lady who told me she lives just behind the restaurant and the food is excellent: 'just like home cooking'.
She was right! We shared a yellow prawn curry, pad see ew and pla dook foo (catfish salad) - every dish was flavourful and delicious.
I am afraid I have to agree with other reviewers about the service. We had to hunt a server down each time we wanted something.
We gave up waiting for our bill to arrive and went to the front to pay. Even this took much longer than it should have.

Do yourself a favour and go to Kaab Gluay restaurant for some truly delicious authentic fresh Thai food at an excellent price with fantastic service!
We couldn’t find a single fault with this place (not that we were looking for one!) we ended up dining here a few times with our three boys - family of 5 with big appetites - ate a feast each time with plenty of starters, mains, drinks, desserts, cocktails …. Didn’t pay over AUD$100 in total for a dinner feast!
Unbelievably excellent value in my opinion! Certainly was the best meal, and he best Thai food that we had in 16 days of eating out in Thailand. Would definitely recommend and go back there again and again if we go to Phuket (Patong) again.

Kaab Gluay is a restaurant in Patong in Phuket, which I have been a frequent customer for many years. One of my favourite Thai seafood restaurants in Patong. Extensive menu options. Generous portions, great food, at very reasonable prices. Never had to wait to long for food. Staff are friendly & professional. Clean. Inside AC or outside, under roof options. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

We had a lovely meal here in our second night in Phuket. It is a great example of how trip advisor can help you to find a local gem. As we would never have found this place tucked away.
We got most dishes off the recommended list and my personal highlight was the braised belly pork!
Very very reasonable food and top quality Phuket cuisine.

Went here with high expectations becouse of all the recommendations. What a disappoiment! The place itself located on a very noisy street, could not hear what other was speaking. The waiters speaked poor English, not easy to get a connection with them.
We had to wait for our drinks, they came when the food came or when my spouses food came, it came about 10 minutes earlier than mine which was annoying. When my food finally came it tastes lame and saltless, I ordered red curry which I order pretty much in every Thai restaurant, it is my absolutely favourite dish and with that I can messure the standard of the place. This was just horrible, really. It lacked taste so I gave it back to the kitchen. it came back with a flavour, I think it had missed the fish sauce. It was better but not excellent. Can not say I would recommend this place. My spouses Panang was good but with this all said and happened I will never return to this place.

This is an excellent restaurant with a modern decor on the edge of the old city. Service, like the food is good as well. The final bill for three people was a reasonable 780 THB in view of the overall food quality.

The food here was tasty and fairly authentic. Would recommend the green curry and roast belly pork with salt. The papaya salad and beef dish was good also. Service was on the poorer side eg our salad came out last after all the cooked dishes. But overall a good meal and would return.

We visited in 2017 and again in Jan 2023. The food was a good as I remembered. The staff are friendly. We have the papaya salad, chicken cashew, ginger chicken, mango sticky rice (to name a few). Highly recommend for Thai dishes

Wonderful service, road is a bit noisy but place is clean and fresh. No air conditioning but very cool and with fans. Food was amazing! The green curry with prawns was the favourite but none of the dishes disappointed….flava’ flava’…extraordinarily Thai experience in every way. Thank you!

We went at a recommandation to this restaurant, and our expectations was reched. We order as appetizers - springrolls with shrimps, chicken satay, main course beef with ginger and garlic fried vegetables and Tom Yum Gong with seafood. The taste was different from what we eat at street food in Patong. Only problems are that they don t have place for parking, it s near to street an polution and it s about half our from Bangala Street.
