I have always been a fan of the Thai Catering Restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Phuket Airport Domestic Terminal (landside). I particularly enjoy their Khao Pad Prik Gaeng Tai Pla Heng, served with a medley of locally-sourced Southern Thai vegetables like makhuea muang...(purple dwarf eggplant) and yord mui (tiny fern-like shoots) It was a delightful surprise to find that the TG Royal Silk Lounge in the domestic terminal of Phuket airport had been temporarily merged into the restaurant space for the month of January before moving into a new space airside (past-security and near the departure gates) next month. They have a great selection of complimentary Phuket-style as well as more common Thai dishes available for ordering a la carte, including my favorite, the quintessentially Phuket-style Khao Pad Nam Prik Goong Seab (fried rice with dried shrimp chili paste) served with garnishes including the famous Yord Mui and Bai Bua Bok (Asiatic Pennywort shoots/greens). Service by restaurant manager Khun Kachin and waitress Ja was excellent as usual - very warm and generous. Khun Kachin even offered me a plate of the Phuket-style stir-fried yellow noodles with seafood and egg (Mee Leung Phad Hokkien Sai Khai) which has its origins as the famous Hokkien-style noodles beloved all over Southeast Asia. The coconut ice cream is also highly recommended Quite a new year's treat to find two of my favorite spaces at Phuket's domestic terminal merged into one, if only for a month. Going forward, even when the new TG lounge opens airside, I will still stop by the Thai Catering Restaurant for their Khao Pad Prik Gaeng Tai Pla Heng, a true taste of Ahaan Tai, the cuisine of Phuket and Southern ThailandMore

New look of Thai Airway Restaurant at 3rd floor of Phuket Domestic Airport. Modern Thai decoration with delicious food and nice services. We never disappointed with Thai taste and feel even more welcome by the new restaurant renovation.

We had taken thai airways from Delhi to phuket. When I reached phuket, what I could see after receiving my luggage that my brand new suitcase was broken from one side. I asked at the airport and the answer I get is that they can...not do anything as they do not know when it happened, in delhi or bangkok or phuket. I am highly disappointed with their response. My bag worth INR 15,000 is totally spoilt.More

The Phuket airport is quite far from most tourist spots, so you often get there hungry. I saw subway and burger king and knew I wasn't going to eat there, no way! So I tried Thai airways restaurant even if it was pricier than the...other options and I must say I was pleasantly surprised with my dish! Good Thai food!More

We are all used to airport restaurants being expensive and not providing great food. However this one is not like that! Up on the 2nd floor of Phuket airport this restaurant provides an oasis to let you escape from the tumult going on below. Nice...and quiet place to relax and a good range of Thai meals. We had two mains plus drinks and the total was only about $16. Don't put up with fast food from the restauaurants on the lower floor. Take the escalator up one flight and you will be pleased with the experience.More

This remains one of the old school excellent airport restaurants since replaced almost everywhere by fast food soulless places with awful food. This restaurant has a large variety of both Thai and international food. Good portions of well cooked proper meals. The decor is a...bit old and the bench seats worn down and not too comfortable but the good food makes up for it. Try it ....up the escalator from the check in area .More

This was by way the worst and most expensive Thai Food I ever had! We ve been there early in morning and first ordered toasts, scrambled eggs and pancakes. After 5 min. 2 toasts arrived but no scrambled eggs. After 10 min. they told us...that they don't have pancakes. Still no scrambled eggs. After 15 min. we finally got the scrambled eggs. As we were still very hungry we thought we will give the Thai Food a chance and try if this might be better. It was even worst! We had Pad Thai and Phuket Noodles with vegetables. We are not picky with food but we couldn't eat it. It really was disgusting! I can't recommend it and I would never go there again. It's also very expensive. We paid 1000 baht for 2 people. We never paid that much during our entire 2 weeks stay in Thailand and still got the worst food ever!More
