Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What is achieved here so far away from France by a small team is just a feat! People like you deserve the “legion d’honneur “. Authentic, delicious, no superfluous frills but “juste le goût”. I will never forget my visit, your conviction and modesty. Let’s...hope that one day Michelin will take the time to stop here.More

Rude Owner There is no signage to identify restaurant. No aircon. Told by owner that outside would be cooler. Left place due to owner’s attitude

Quirky, fun location; pleasant atmosphere, satisfying food (foie gras especialiy), but it is a mystery as to why the chef refuses to add sufficient AC to the place. Previous reviews aplenty over the years mention the lack of sufficient AC . . . no fun...to eat when sweating . . .More

Traditional French cuisine is what you get here. Nothing too fancy. Just good, honest French bistro food. Save the best for last, the cheese selection. Pretty sure no other restaurant in Pattaya has something that even comes close. Good wine and digestive menu. All in...all very good, and a reminder of Pattaya when it was not all hotel and apartment towers.More

Saw the review online and it looked great. We were disappointed unfortunately. First of all it was too hot in there. The air-con was not efficient enough to cool the room down, and the fan we shared with another table did not give much relief...from the heat. The limited menu was not easy to read even with my reading glasses on, the fonts were fancy and small. I ordered, the french onion soup to start, it was too salty and was like a cheese melt with a onion soup dressing poured over it. My main course was, beef tenderloin, which was ok. The french fries were frozen string chips and not home made. There was no vegetables with the meal. My guests were equally unimpressed with there meals they chose. We were expecting much more from Au Bon Coin after the review we saw online. Sorry 3/10More

I regard it as a great treat and almost a privilege to get a table here in this beautiful restaurant set in a lovely location. I can't remember the exact month but shortly after the Covid-19 lockdown finished and ABC opened again I managed to...get a table with out booking. They very kindly 'squeezed me in'. However, I was surprised when having ordered pork rillettes I was given a very large portion - a big bowl from which I was supposed to take any amount, a small or large portion and then return the remainder to served at other tables. This is not hygienic especially in view of Covid-19 nor have I ever seen served in such a manner anywhere else. However, this eccentricity was overshadowed by the over salted mussels. My partner explained her food, beef I think, was too salty also. The dessert was unremarkable. Unfortunately as the boss does not encourage criticism - grufness being part of his persona and act it was not possible to mention the over salted food or discuss it with him. Perhaps this was a 'one off' occurrence but the rillettes serving style just seemed bizarre pandemic or no pandemic. Was the AC dripping too? I'm reluctant to give negative reviews usually. I wish ABC good luckMore

Whenever I go to the Pattaya area I eat here every night. Nothing disappoints. A pity it is not in Bangkok as I much prefer the food to certain Michelin starred restaurants that I won't name. You will not regret a visit.

Found this place as we searched for a place to eat around the area. A cozy little restaurant hidden amidst trees. Loved the overall ambience. Food was great - could tell a lot of things were made in-house. Our son especially loved the homemade french...fries. We enjoyed tenderloin with morel sauce and lamb sweetbread with mushroom sauce. Feels like you go to have dinner at your friend’s rather than a restaurant. The madeleines were freshly made and were so scrumptious.More

For lovers of fine French food, especially Old School Classics, Au Bon Coin would reign supreme. I had Foie Gras terrine, which is homemade and a specialty of the house. My main was a Kapong (Seabass) Menuire. A Menuire is considered a simple dish but...extremely difficult to get the correct balance between lemon and butter in the sauce as they have done here. We shared a Crabmeat salad, nice lumpy crabmeat was tossed in a light dressing. My friend had a Shrimp Cocktail followed by Duck in a red wine sauce which again was cooked just right! Our crepes suzettes get 6 stars! Ive been here several times before, somehow never seemed to review. Definitely worth looking up, recommend to reserve as they do get full up. This is one if the best French restaurants in Thailand for sure, totally unpretentious but with so much charm.More

This restaurant was difficult to find on this first visit. However, once you locate it, you are in for wonderful surprise. I had a prawn cocktail and the 5-hour lamb. Others on the table had the onion soup, pate and Beef Bourgignon. Everyone commented on...the excellence of the food. The profiteroles for dessert were the icing on the cake. Hope to return again for this gem.More
