This is the best tempura restaurant in Bangkok, this is a tempura restaurant. The better one is the expensive tempura restaurant in Tokyo. If you like tempura, it's a must. Trust me, I tried a very expensive tempura in Tokyo already, this one is better than average tempura in Japan. The place also have tonkatsu, very good too. Some sushi.... More

A small Japanese restaurant in the Charn Issara Building, Rama 4 Road. Very friendly welcome for this first-time visitor. The tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) was crispy and tender with adequate condiments. They have counter seating which is convenient for the single diner. Service was very good with waitresses giving helpful suggestions. Menu i Thai, Japanese and English. Will definately try... More

We are a group of 10. They gave us a special room as my friend called earlier to reserve. We even pre-order our food from their menu and when we arrived, the food is served immediately. I ordered a tonkatsu and it was well good. The set lunch is enough for 1 pax and my friend ordered additional california maki.... More

If you are looking for good tonkatsu, you'd be more satisfied heading to Katsushin. Nevertheless, the service was efficient so it's a good place for business lunch.

MISATO was a small Japanese restaurant that consistently served great authentic Japanese food for decades. The place was famous for its Tonkatsu (a Japanese dish which consists of a breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet) My favorite dishes were 1) Chirashi - a big bowl of rice mixed with shrimp, squid, tuna, salmon, fishes, eggs and vegetables. 2) Tendon (an abbreviation of... Keisuke-san was a great host and made our dinner at Misato a memorable one. We ordered tempura, katsu curry, some sushi and other izakaya type for and could barely finish it all. Price is reasonable. It can be a bit tricky to find though, upstairs in a small mall behind the crowne plaza.

Always a must to do when I visit Bangkok. Can't complain as each time I come here it's perfect. Took some family members for their first try of Japanese food here and they enjoyed it too

This the only place in Bangkok that serve a good real tempura. All other japanese restaurant, no matter how expensive, do not serve a real tempura. For those who had vist a Tempura Restaurant in Japan probably know that it's a specialty place that serve only tempura. Misata is that kind of place in Bangkok, probably the only one. They... More

Come in 11.10, I'm the second queue. But people come stand all over without line, so I got in last. The table run out. They didn't have a system to let people go in queue. Watch out those Japanese who live in TH too long. They acting like Thai auntie now, no respecting the queue. Food is OK, quite a... More

I read some great reviews on this place and was looking forward to a great meal. The one I got was just average. Not bad prices, good service but the food did not knovck me out.

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
