This is our favorite place in Bangkok. It is as the end of an alleyway overlooking the river. You have to go all the way to the end of the dead-end street to find it but it is worth the effort. The food is great. The service is exceptional. The View of the river is great entertainment.

We stopped at this restaurant as part of a day tour we booked through a local tour company. The food here ended up being some of the best we ate in Bangkok. We had the green curry and the panang curry, both of which were great.

My worries were melt away by the cool breeze and the view of the iconic Temple of the Dawn. The service was excellent. I can see myself picking this place to propose and I was with friends.

We went there on a balmy afternoon where the temperature hit 40 degree or about 90 degree with 90% humidity but we felt like we were back in a time where life was just a river and had no care in the world. With the majestic view of the Temple of the Dawn across the bank of the river and... More

We had lunch at this restaurant with great food, prices and view. From the Grand Palace you head down a side street toward the river. It may not look promising until you get there, but there is a great outdoor patio right on the water with a view across the way to the Dawn Temple.

Coolest spot for watching the sunset. Nice drinks and food (only at the top floor there is only snacks). But the best is definitely the view of Wat Arun. There are other places around but this one is right in front.

We decided to go to this restaurant after to check the TripAdvisor reviews and that we found was really disappointed. The place was empty, only one table with a family but they were with the dessert (we arrive around 21:30). The waiter gave us a table but not in the best mood. We asked for not spicy dishes because one... More

I can understand why people are disappointed about the food. This isn't really the place to be ordering Western food. Why would you? My friend, an expat in Thailand, took me here as it's one of his go to places for sunset drinks. We had been seeing the sights on a very hot day and came here to have a... More

We arrived sooner to the restaurant. It was empty on the second floor where we had our reservation at 18:00. They first would not allow us to sit there, then they would give us a table further away from the view altho I requested a nice view because it was my birthday. And let me emphasise- all the tables were... More

Amazing views of the river and Wat Arun. You need to go up a spiral staircase and another 2 flights of narrow stairs before u get to the bar. We were there coincidentally as the sunset and it was amazing... bring your camera! They have a decent menu from beers to Australian wine to cocktails and mock tails. The cocktails... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
