I rarely post a bad review, but I just can't let this place mislead or disappoint others. Florian met up with us on-time at Sheraton, and then we walked for about 8-10 minutes to get to the location. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a...make-shift (putting it lightly) old, dilapidated, open-air warehouse set-up for our dinner. He explained that he had relocated his restaurant to a waterfront warehouse …and we would be the only ones dining. He said he invited some friends over for drinks. I think this was to make the area look fun upon arrival. The guest quickly left after we were seated. Florian and Kai invited us to sit down and then they served drinks (rum only – no wine – no other option other than water and rum - yes, only water and rum). Then we proceeded with the meal: 7-9 one-bite selections, followed by soup broth with mushroom filled ¼ way in the bowl and then a tiny bowl of curry (not even served hot) with a spoon-full of rice. Dessert was served in a shot glass. *** This is not a 5-star experience, nor does it deserve any Michelin rating *** As we dined river-front (which was beautiful), the bugs fell on to our plate while Florian stared at us as we ate as a single fan whipped my hair around my face while the sweat ran down our backs as we tried to eat. Florian must have thought we needed to expand our conversation to his life, so he then pulled up a chair and tried to make small-talk while we continued to eat (while he watched). After feeling hot, sweaty (we dressed expecting to be in AC penthouse), we told him that we were very tired from the journey, touring and the extreme heat and asked that they speed up service -- we couldn't get out of there quick enough. If you are hungry, you will not be satisfied. The food is pre-cooked from another day and assembled into one-bite portions Chef plays with food and makes "faces" on it. If you are looking for a truly nice experience, go to NAHM at the Como Metropolitan Hotel. Trust me - it's wonderful.More

As avid foodies, we were excited to get a place at this supper club. It was set in a concrete shell on the river a new location from it’s original condo pictured on the site. I loved the setting definitely different, exposed and unique, if...a little basic. Florian was the perfect host and ensured we always had cocktails but as the amuse bouche, tasty as they were, arrived 20 minutes apart it was the conversation and the booze which flowed down by the river. It was very informal and I expected to be asked to sit down for dinner but as the courses were like canapés there was no real need. After 9 tastey morsels, the main arrived and that was that. It was a nice but not an extraordinary Thai curry. I had thought this was the start of the real courses but apart from desert, it was really the finale. We stayed and drank more wine and even more wine, so hospitality wasn’t short but if you want a ten course dinner I would say that this was stretching it. I’m no stranger to Michelin size portions but this did not compare. An interesting concept but overpriced for the amount of food.More

It was recommended by a friend as a different experience to fine restaurant dining. The price is a bit on the expensive side but it’s more than made up for in the fact you can have as many cocktails, beer or wine as you feel...you can drink. The down side to this format is if the other guests are not very chatty, then you miss some of the charm. The food was very good with well balanced flavors and often give you more of each course if you request it. The cocktails flow freely and the wine is always half full. (With Florian stealthily pouring when you are not looking). It’s really a great alternative experience. The best way to describe this is having a great friend in Bangkok who invites you to their place for a fine dining experience. The view rivals the best rooftop bars and it will leave you feeling like you are more connected to Bangkok.More

Due to the last minute cancellation of the other group, ended up my wife and I were the only patrons at dinner tonight. It was wonderful to have the whole place to ourselves, and Florian and Goy proved to be excellent hosts and chef! A...pleasant walk from the meeting place took us to a quiet high rise residential building in the middle of Chinatown. The apartment was sparsely decorated so guests could take full advantage of the expansive view of the river. Every course, from the welcome cocktail to the wonderful dessert of smoked coconut ice cream and sago, was beautifully presented and uniquely tasty. Down to every bite was different, as it could be the pepper cracking, chilli burning, lime bursting... each ingredient wonderfully exploding their flavours in our mouth and on our tongues. Florian and Goy were careful to explain every dish and generous in sharing tidbits of its preparation. In our decades of travelling to Bangkok annually for R&R, somehow this has escaped us. Now that we’ve discovered this gem, we hope to become one of the regulars and bring our friends and family along!More

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Nang Gin Kui this past week. After 3 weeks working in Thailand, with 3 kids along for the adventure, we had one night with a babysitter to go indulge in a quieter dining experience. Having considered...Gaa, Issaya and many of the others, we opted for NGK. We didn't regret it. The food was great, but the experience was really much more than that. The chance to dine 7 (?) stories above the cacophony of Chinatown and with a stunning view of the Chao Praya river at sunset made for a truly unique experience. The team of 3 served us in their own living room, customizing some of the dishes to our tastes and offering 2nd helpings when our bowls were cleared quickly. The vintage Technics turntable and HiFi stereo completed the mood. This is a place that makes me want to return with friends in order to share the warm hospitality and delicious food.More

Having been to Bangkok twice before we wanted to experience something different and set about looking through TA's member itinerys of what to do in Bangkok amd stumbled across these guys, it sounded fun so had to book it. we were staying in the millennium...Hilton and was surprised to find out that we were minutes away from the meeting point at the Sheraton. I have to admit i was aprehensive before going and had no idea what to expect. We met Goi as Florian was away and she guided us to the apartment through the winding streets, it was 10 mins and we were at their place. we rode the elevator to the 15th floor and entered the apartment, wow the views were the first thing we saw alomg woth all the pictures of previous guests. On to the first drink and it was Florian's signature cocktail and wow i loved it, so much in fact that i may have had 5 or 6 of them before mmoving onto white wine and then a Leo beer. We had the 12 course Thai experience and it was absolutely incredible as my wife is a vegetarian every course had to be altered to accommodate her and she also found the courses to be incredible. Every course was small but the flavours were concentrated and intense, incredible is the only way i can describe it and up there with the best dining i have ever had. As another couple cancelled we were treated to this experience for just the two of us and that made it all the more special. Will i go back, yes. Would i recommend that you go, yes. Is it expensive, not for the experience we had.More
