Clean pokey place. Nice staff. Slightly pretentious but nice food. Medium prices. Small portions. All in all, decent place and will probably go back at some point.

We visited here following a friend's recommendation and was not disappointed. We had the banana fritters as a starter snack. So good! And the lamb samosa. Followed by the massamam curry (as recommended by our friend) it was delicious. I was craving a glass of wine after surviving off beer while in Bangkok and was pleased to see a selection... More

Ordered red curry with smoked duck an rambutan, tom yum goong with tiger prawns and crispy sea bass - it was an explosion of taste. Every mouthful was a powerful punch on the palate, asking for more. It isn't cheap compared to other places that Bangkok has to offer but its high quality makes every baht worth it. Service is... More

The Khao Soi from this restaurant was the best i have ever had. Excellent atmosphere, nice to get away from the hustle and bustle that is main Bangkok! It is only a small restaurant and will get crowded. I would recommend to book in advance.

Need to book as the place is small and gets crowded. This restaurant is patronised by tourists and expatriates. Although small portions, the dishes are cooked with great quality and tastes good. I wil definitely come back again in my next visit to Bangkok.

Styled as modern Thai food (which I'm not sure I agree with) but this little restaurant close to the junction of Sukhumvit and Thonglor is really worth a visit. We were a large group so had to have a set menu. The servings were pretty large and included a number of dishes I wouldn't normally order so it was great... More

Most people would say the best place to eat street food is on the street - but sometimes you want a nicer environment especially in the sweltering tropical heat. Soul Food Mahanakorn is a restaurant that takes its street food seriously. The dishes all taste very good and authentic. Must orders are the sticky tamarind ribs and the Khao Soi.

We really enjoyed the the cocktails and food here. Everything was so fresh tasting. The atmosphere and service were both very good. Yes, the portions are maybe on the small side for some, but give me quality over quantity any day. The restaurant is a lot smaller than we had anticipated and although you can sit at the bar and... Saw the positive reviews and the special beers they have. Opted for the sticky tamarind ribs. Quality was excellent, soft meat and the tamarind sauce was perfect. I'm not a huge eater and for me the small portion was just OK - but definitely not a main dish size. I was lucky to get the last bottle of Stone IPA... More

Staying in Thong Lor & Ekamai

Neighbourhood Profile
Thong Lor & Ekamai
Known as Bangkok’s hippest neighbourhood, Thong Lor and Ekamai is where the city's well-dressed and well-heeled spend their nights sipping cocktails in hidden speakeasies and posh restaurants. Live it up in one of Thong Lor's extravagant clubs and be prepared to brush shoulders with a Thai celebrity or two. While great for a night out, the area is nothing short of interesting during the daytime, either. Expect a mix of savvy coffee shops, pop-up bars and loads of vintage stores, brought to you by hip locals with eyes for design.
