This is how I imagine eating in Bangkok must have been like 65 years ago! The restaurant is situated in an old dingy low-rise building with tables in all sorts of odd shaped rooms and corridors. The food was good, but not outstanding, although good value for the prices charged. The green papaya salad was ok but nothing to write... More

Although we've tried other restaurants in the area, none of them come close to the delicious food, the peaceful surroundings and the very moderate prices of Harmonique. It has become our cantine in Bangkok and we can hardly wait to go back again.

Tried this restaurant based on a local recommendation. Located off of a side street. Reminiscent of some of the smaller restaurants I used to visit in Chinatown in NYC. Not a fancy place but the food was very good authentic Thai and reasonably priced.

This restaurant is off the beaten track down a dark alley. The locals eat here and it is a very popular venue. The food is of excellent quality and is authentically Thai. The red Thai curry is the best I have ever eaten. It is inexpensive and the portions are the right size. It is a family run friendly restaurant.... More

I've been here quite a few times and always thought the food was good. It's a distinctly Chinese type of place, quite an unusual setup in many ways. However, the last few times I have been put off by a rather unusual smell ...not sure if it comes from the kitchen. On the positive side, they do not add service... More

I cannot imagine my annual week in Bangkok without at least one visit here. We did a lunch and a dinner this year. The menu is really varied and although I like spicy my friend cannot eat it and there was plenty of choice for both of us. The atmosphere is friendly and the decor unique. It is almost always... The ambience and atmosphere are pleasant and the surroundings quite quirky but the food is a bit toned down for the tourist trade. There are some interesting dishes which I've not found elsewhere such as a delightful savoury shrimp egg custard which was a lovely starter but it's not very Thai. Overall the food is average to good rather than... More

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
