As of May 2016, this establishment has closed. We tried to stop by for dinner tonight and there was something new in its place. Understand others mentioned it was hard to find, but we are 100% sure we were in the right place - able to match up the signage versus a previous picture. Bummer, it looked like a good,... More

Really great meal on my last night in KTM. Great atmosphere and a whole lot better than the a lot of the other Thamel eateries.

It was my last day in Kathmandu after traveling through India and Nepal for a month. I was in need of a really authentic meal to close out the trip. Unfortunately, most Kathmandu restaurants cater to the 'Western' crowd with burgers and pizza. Coming all the way to Nepal and having burgers and pizza just wasn't right. I was sitting... More

We were looking for good Tibetan food and our search brought us to Tashi Delek and our search ended here. They have the most authentic and variety of Tibetan food including the great Tibetan drink of Tongbah (warm beer made of millets). Tongbah is a must try where they give you a jar full of these special millets and a... More

for me, the best place in kathmandu to have tasty, simple, honest tibetan food. very very tasty thukpa, momos and thentuk. the restaurant is down an alley, and if you dont know its there, you will probably miss it. also, its dark, and not the cleanest place around. what i want to say - if you are looking for a... We ate there several times because the service (despite the festivals) was great. we had a potato and spinach burger with cheese and mushroom sauce, this was more of a rosti and one of the tastiest things we'd eaten in Kathmandu. Prices are exceptional for the food. Definitely give it a try. We will be going back on our next... More

Old place in Kathmandu - with genuine Tibetan food and very reasonable prices. Especially recommended is the Ting momo( steamed Tibetan Bread) with veg curry . Atmosphere and cleanliness not much to speak off, but food and value excellent!

It must say something that the first thing I wanted to do after returning to Kathmandu after an absence of 12 years was to have dinner at the Tashi Delek, apparently it got 'Old' while I was away. Do not misunderstand my rating, the tables, chairs and possibly the menus had not changed since my last visit. This is a... More

In spite of being it a dark, old and little bit smelly place, i go there to eat lunch and dinner almost every time i visit Thamel area. They have a nice range of simple homey dishes. And the plates always come in above average size. That costs also not much, i suspect it could be one of the cheapest... More
