Location: One of the very well-known and always go-to places in the heart of Thimphu city. Just before the main traffic, opposite to Druk PNB branch.
It’s located on the first floor and has a great view of main traffic with barstool sitting. I love the plants and platers on the stairway which gives such a warm and welcoming feel.
Ambiance: Seatings are comfortable with sofa and option for low and high height tables. Lights and plants inside create a fresh, warm, and cozy place to sit and enjoy your coffee /tea and snacks
Food: The menu is not extensive, however, the items on it are their best served and never disappoint. Food is always fresh and quite good presentation. The best part is they use a lot of local fresh garnish in almost all their dishes. Love their coffee and tea.
Service: Service is quick and everyone is very hospitable.

Everything is great about this place, from the menu to the music, to the deco and great custumer service. The food is really good and there is an excellent choice fo freshly made dishes and juices, with great coffee as well. Loved it!

We went there twice for coffee, cake and fresh juice. Cake and juice was the best part. Maybe it’s the milk they use in the coffee that makes it odd?
Ambient cafe is ambient! Charming surroundings and great chill music.

Awesome gem of a cafe in central Thimphu. Nice vibe. Owners are on site. Has soy milk and decaf coffee and some vegan cake and food options too. Good coffee and smoothies too. It’s a great place to chill in Thimphu.

We visited this cafe on first day of our travel to Thimphu. The place had a fabulous vibe - youngsters chilling, others reading, house cat roaming , and coziness !!
The owner is also very nice. We had a lovely time there and loved the meals they had on their menu….

Ambient is my FAVOURITE!
My go-to cafe in Thimphu
I am a vegan so this is like a safe heaven to me. Also I love their vegan coconut ice-cream.
And also I love to pet Kali the cat there. MEOW...

Really quick visit for badly needed good coffee. Ambient Cafe did not disappoint! A coffee specialist in the heart of Thimphu, delivering true Italian style espressos in the vein of the established Western independent coffee scene. Friendly and welcoming staff. Could not ask for more!

Food is overpriced. You pay for the ambience. My banana smoothie was made of unripe banana and my noodle soup had half cooked vegetables which caused stomach ache and indigestion.

this is a great lace for brunch, lunch or just to met for a cup of coffee, they have good toasts and croissants and also good cappucinno and black teas. Very relaxing atmosphere and also a newspaper or good book available

Great way to spend an afternoon in Thimpu, the menu is fairly extensive, the atmosphere really relaxing, the service fairly quick. Thoroughly recommended.
