The place itself, and the fact that there is live music almost every night, is more interesting than the food. The building is also an art gallery, with traditional and contemporary art, almost all is for sale. The rooftop terras is nice and the personnel is very friendly and well dressed!

Totally amazed, the earth tones of this place remindes me of good autumn.... Beautiful place to forget everything in the winter.

I loved everything, the people, African music, the place ! I was looking for some Senegalese food, and the owner even gave me some little for me to try before the final order! And the food was so delicious!

I have been to gospel night twice now. The food has been really good both times. They have a fixed menu on gospel night, which is on Thursdays. My only complaint is that the gospel singing starts late and is over very quickly.

The good is good, but not special, and far above market prices. The setting is lovely; not only the artwork on display, but the breezy room with great panoramic views of les mamelles, ocean, etc. Service was extremely friendly and solicitous, but also often absent (the kitchen, and apparently even water and other drinks, is two floors below, so with... Nice people, good food, well prepared, and all at a reasonable price. Lunch is ala carte, and dinner is often whatever they're serving. I've had nothing but great food there, and the ambiance is great. Live music many nights of the week. Friendly owner came over to say hi and thank us for visiting. Very much worth the trip down... This restaurant was a great find! Randomly came across it and was surprised at the amazing live music and atmosphere. Their beef was the beat I've had in West Africa. It is a bit pricy though, but worth the money.

La Calebasse is a nice experience. The ambiance is comfortable, the service is friendly and the Senegalese food is pretty good. Everything I ate was tasty but noting blew me away. All in all, good meal, nice experience, worth a visit.

I've been coming here for ages, though hadn't been in almost a year. Having spent the first half of the evening at a stiff, unfriendly, unimaginative 5-star downtown restaurant, was SUCH a relief to walk into Calebasse. Super friendly manager who squeezed us into an already packed place, and allowed us to order a late-night dessert + drinks instead of... More
