This was one of the best meals we had during our two-week trip around Ethiopia. Delicious mahbarawi platter, tej, and beer in a gorgeous newly built tulkul interior, within walking distance of the Piazza. The service was attentive, with a chef/manager personally coming by to ask how we were enjoying our experience. Seems to be a popular haunt for locals.... More

Definitely a must try when in Addis Ababa! Local restaurant with local setting and local and delicious Ethiopian food. Nothing fancy, a bit pricey. An experience available from other restaurants in the city! Some service staff do not speak English so can't recommend food to order, especially for kids options. We managed though. A delightful experience.

We went to this restaurant for dinner and enjoyed the traditional ambiance and food. We recommend the restaurant for new visitors to Ethiopia.

This is a place for a typical traditional Ethiopian Foods. The place is great for group activities and for the first time travelers to see a mini Ethiopia in the foods and drinks.

This place is amazing. It is one of the oldest restaurants in the city. The place is not decorated to look like a traditional place, it actually is a traditional place from the 1930s. The meal is authentic and reasonably priced. It is a very interesting place you should make an effort to visit

The Hilton in Addis is 51% owned by the government and it shows. The facade reminds one of a 1950 communist ministry, everything is a bit old and outdated inside, except the price level for almost everything. The hotel just got stripped of its 4th star, and was downgraded to 3star crap. Rightfully! The only advantage is its location in... More
