Great place to have sundowners by the pooslide. Be careful of the monkeys if you order food because they can be a pain. The pizza menu is decent but I find prices in Botswana to be significantly more than prices in South Africa. Our waitress was always on point with filling up our glasses before they finished. This venue seems... More

The Fig Tree is the poolside restaurant that forms part of the Grand Palm Hotel. Lovely pool with baby pool for your little one. Hamburgers are very good. Kitchen normally closes at 6pm.

This is a nice-enough place to have a coffee or a drink if you're staying at the hotel. The service can be a little slow, but if you're not in a rush then it's great to sit outside for a while.

This bar is situated next to the swimming-pool area of the Peermont Walmont hotel in Gaborone. It has a wide selection of drinks and bar-type meals. The menu is extensive and offers a wide range of meals. It also lists the various wines available in the Walmont. I never tried it, but the 'Fat Ba*tard' chardonnay was difficult to miss!... More

While the setting of the Fig tree seems promising, this is not what one suggests by "experience local food and service". The food was incredibly expensive and my "snack basket" would have been better described as "a basket of leftovers". The Samosas were very overcooked (had they been recooked several times?) and my spring roll was still semi-frozen inside (are... More

The food was OK, and the service could have been better. Best feature of The Fig Tree is the outside seating and area.

While visiting the Grand Palm Resort at Gaborone my wife and I went to the Fig Tree for lunch. This is a nice little outside restaurant between the resort and the swimming pool. Before having our meal we first enjoyed some refreshing drinks. I had a well prepared Strawberry Mojito cocktail that contained some fresh Strawberries while my wife had... More

I have had a really good pizza here. I like the setting. I like the view of the lake. And monkeys running around. It's nice
