We arrived late for dinner (9:30 pm) and we were alone the entire evening. Very good service. There was someone playing an "Aoud" (luth?) and singing. The decoration is beautiful, the food is very traditional, very typical. We took a tour around the house and it's amazing. Recommend.

I was alone in the restaurant that evening. I was there too early (about half an hour before opening hours) yet they let me in and tended to all my need. Food is traditional Tunisian food, which is very tasty, architecture is lovely, there was a man playing traditional or traditional style music at a mandolin - like instrument. All... More

Excellent food quality, good staff. And excellent decor with this Bey house. Still dishes are little bit expensive around 100 TND average. But it desserves. Recommended.

this place deep in the medina got high recommendations. The house quite ornate and nice to look at but the food was very poor and the service was not great or overly friendlly.

I can't really relate to some of the disappointed comments. We went there and after being amazed about the interior we had very good dinner and service, particularly Mohamed, our companion to the restaurant, is a real character! I can just recommend it.

The food was not exceptional - quite normal Tunisian. The interior is nice but too much of nick-nack. Especially the two paintings of Ottomans. Annoying musician that kept singing for two hours without breaks (for our ears).

We did not hâve a good dinner at essaraya restaurant. We had dinner during ramadan and the food was awful. The location is excellent, the décoration of the restaurant as well, but the food is réally awful and quite expensive.

Essaraya is housed in a grandiose old mansion with impressive and ornate decor in the heart of the Medina, Tunis' old city. The first impression is very positive and charming. Once you sit at your table though, things start getting worse. The service is terrible -totally indifferent bordering on rudeness. The food is mediocre and uninspired at best, and unfortunately... Description
