This cafe is the ultimate place to chill. I love visiting cafes around the world and this one definitely had the most relaxed vibe to it. No one will ask you what you are smoking, and the mint tea was the best I had in the country.

I thought I'd manage to find the place myself but I was just too ambitious... so I suggest you accept early ahead the offer of one of the many unofficial tourist guides scattered along the Medina souqs. They'll help you find and get to know about places hidden in the maze. Once you get to Cafe Baba, grab some mint... More

one of the many self appointed guides brought my friend and i here. i was hesitant at first but then went in and found the atmosphere nostalgic of times gone by. we had hot tea to warm us up and a smokers paradise in every sense of the word. if you don't like the smell, sit by a window if... More

Great place. The owners son greeted us and found us a table on a busy Sunday night. He brought us tea and everything else that we needed. The place was packed for a soccer game but it added to the experience. Highly recommend Café Baba if you're looking for an experience you can't get from a group tour. Don't come... More

this is a cafe bar (though didnt' see any alcohol) which is definitely not much to look at but steeped in history. Rolling Stones, Bob Marley and other famous musicians used to hang out here and "partake". If you just want to see it, go in day, fairly quiet. you want to see the action? go at night, after 5... Café Baba is in the medina, one of those narrow alley ways. It has baby blue color walls and a lot of color faded posters---Bob Marley, Mick Jagger (Rolling Stones)…. They all came here to smoke hashish and made this joint famous. The place is run down, old tables and chairs with old patched cushions. They don’t maintain places well.... More

This is smoky, old, funky, small, and slightly edgy, Somewhat difficult to find at 1 rue Sidi-Hosni - expats call it the coolest spot in the Kasbah. Our private guide Aziz has this as a regular stop on his walk through the medina. The cafe has attracted foreign dignitaries, rock stars, aristocrats, and artists since it opened in 1943. You...
