Super nice lunch and great staff. Great location. Its a good place for a getaway from the busy souks and sometimes pushy people. Take the rooftop. Reasonable prices.

This lovely little cafe, overlooking a small square, is situated just off the main drag through the souks and is well worth a lunch stop, even if it’s not the cheapest of cafes by Moroccan standards. I’ve eaten here many times over the years and enjoyed a variety of food and drink, the quality of which has always been excellent.... More

This is a nice area of Marrakech, the square of spices is a bit smaller, and the souqs around it are nice to walk through. We had a tajine here for lunch, the prices are good, the tajine was good, and the view was nice. Even in October it was too hot for us to sit at a table in... More

Loved our visit here after a long day haggling in the souk. The briouettes of cheese on the starter menu are to die for, and portions are generous enough to share. We will certainly be back!

This café has all the buzz of Marrakech! Wonderful location on the vibrant Place des Épices, with its rich colours and aromas. Delicious noss-noss coffee ('half-half'), and interesting juices and smoothies. Good, wholesome salads and traditional tagines. A great place to pause awhile...

We dived into this restaurant, it had begun to rain heavily and though most of the tables were al fresco, there are alcoves. We were happily shown to the bar and promised a covered seat asap. Five minutes later we were ordering mouthwatering food and offered a blanket to keep out the wind. Two of us had three starters between... More

Popped into this place for a quick lunch a couple of times during my recent visit to the Marrakech Souk. The food is very basic Moroccan cuisine, but the Tajine hit the right spot. The location is right on the Place Des Epices and the views from the top terrace are impeccable.

The staff is nice and efficient. We had coffee at the roof top a couple of times. The location is great, in the middle of the souk. Perfectly fit for a lunch or coffee break when shopping. We didn't taste their food, but it looked really good.

Lovely rooftop - they even lend you hats to wear! Decent fare, I had a nice omlette for a light bite, my partner enjoyed his kofta tagine. A few glitches to be expected when dealing with language barrier - a missed drink and a billed item not received - but overall not at all bad given we were a big... More

Description
In the heart of the Medina and Souks of Marrakech lies the Rahba Kedima spice square, where old women gather to pound henna for traditional tattoos and sell hand knitted hats, while seasoned vendors run the surrounding spice stores.
Within this setting is the now famed Cafe des Epices, the perfect meeting place and rest stop from the heat and commotion of the souks. The inexpensive menu is focused on the simple and fresh, offering teas and coffee, freshly made juices, sandwiches, salads and crepes. The design is correspondingly simple: deliberately paired down and basic in order to offer a peaceful resting place after the visual overload of the Souks.
Built over 3 floors, the top terrace offers great views over the square and surrounding Medina, the non-smoking 2nd floor salon is a great place to lounge and the ground floor and outdoor tables are fantastic places from which to watch the colourful comings and goings of the spice square market.

Open daily from 9am to 10pm
