I've eaten at the restaurant several times and the service is generally good, though flagging down your waitress is sometimes necessary for drink refills. The food is very good, but the one downside is that there are no substitutions permitted on any of the dinners.

A great place to stop and enjoy some German fair and the opportunity to eat family style if you so choose. Good food and good service.

Had lunch at this restaurant during a road trip to Iowa. Home cooked type menu offered a variety of nice plates and sides. I had the fried pork loin sandwich which was just average-- seemed mostly breading and thin pork portion and fried and plenty....The rest of our group of 6 were satisfied with their selections. Overall, it was satisfactory and we would eat there again. If you have time and room, check out the house cinnamon roll offered in the lobby of the restaurant. And our server was excellent and attentive. Also, had a nice visit with the manager as he checked out the guests.More

We finished our visit to Amana, by having dinner here. The service was OUTSTANDING, from Lisa. She made sure that we all were happy and helped us select delicious entrees. We all enjoyed our sandwiches, salad, and fish...not to mention the desserts and flight of...beers.More

Very disappointed with the Ox Yoke Inn. We drove 2 hours to have an early dinner and the Lady at the register told us we had to wait till 4 pm before they started to serve again. She said they could put us on a...waiting list and we could go shopping. Shopping for 2 hours in the Amana Colonies, yea right.More

We decided to try some of the German food. I ordered weiner (veal) schnitzel- it was kind of stringy. I also had spatzel which is kind of a noodle & rice, it was okay, not much taste. My husband got sauerbraten- it was thinly sliced...beef, very tender. I didn't care for the sauce but it was okay for my husband. I also got a piece of rhubarb pie- I wanted to compare it to my mother's- my mother's is better! My husband got apple strudel which was very good- he let me taste it.More

Ate here at noon on Sunday, August 1. All seven of us adults were very satisfied with what we ordered. I had the Bratwurst & Knackwurst Platter - very good, though I couldn't tell the difference between the two. Green beans were excellent, complete with...onion and bacon. The roll with strawberry jam was great. I also has cole slaw which was awesome. Others in our party had ham, walleye, chicken, Jäger Burger, and something else I don't remember. Everyone liked what they ordered. The place was very clean, including the restrooms, and there is ample parking in the back. Service was very friendly and efficient. They do add 4% to your bill if you pay by credit card, something I rarely encounter. They do have a sign as you enter stating this. It appeared all staff members wore masks, which was good, and had sanitizer available upon entry.More

It's my experience that options are usually your choice of canned green beans or corn; but you don't have a choice potatoes ... you get whatever's featured that day.
