What a great place! I always eat more than I should as the hot dogs with their delicious sauce is fantastic. It's a good thing I live 25 mikes away, otherwise I'd eat here several times a week! BTW, get a cup of their sauce to dip your fries in! Yummy!

Gene's Root Beer has the best root beer ever! It is Drive-in that never changed. Just sit in your car and your server will come take your order and bring it to you on one of those trays that rests on the window. The root beer is served in a frosty glass mug. Another must have is one of Gene's... More

The best part is when Gene's opens you know better weather is here. Spanish dogs are good, but I recommend the polish sausage (with Spanish sauce!). The root beer used to be the best you could find, but several of us agree it has changed in the last few years to being oversweet and oddly flat. Admittedly, I have not... More

This is a great place to stop for a root beer and hot dog. The chili dogs are famous, but I prefer dressing mine with onions. I also looking past the onion rings and French fries to get the mushrooms. To me soft serve ice cream is nothing special, you come here for a root beer and hot dog.

Best drive in root beer stop in Indiana, whether you eat there or carry out. The grandkids know either way we're taking a gallon of root beer home. And the food is second to none.

At least once a summer, The Fetching Mrs. Rat and I along with the Rat pack hit Gene's Root Beer. As in a number of Anderson establishments, nothing seems to change, and that is a good thing. Hot dogs, coney dogs, fries, onion rings, root beer and rood beer floats! What's not to like? TFMR's older sister used to work... More

Most famous place in town. Gets really busy at lunch on nice days. Good, normal food for this type of establishment. Prices are not real cheap, but it's worth it for the different type of experience of eating in the car. Occasionally

Last time I went a few years ago my hot dog was served cold and when I complained the waitress about it , her reply was "You should have ordered it hot". Excuse me, it was a HOT dog why should I order it hot?? Anyway, we gave it another try. Hot dog was only warm, BUT the frosted mug... More

I grew up with an A&W close. This takes me back to those days and definitely hits that drive in food spot. Excellent coney dogs with onion.....don't worry my mouth is closed for review so no odor. Great fries and root beer too. Excellent excellent. It gets a bit crowded at times but for the dogs I don't care. Give... More

Stopped in for lunch. They come to your car just like an old fashioned drive-in. They are known for the Spanish sauce, husband swears it the best on a hot dog. I get the breaded tenderloin. Great root beer floats. It's worth a stop if your in Anderson.

Thank Karla R
