My son discovered this hidden treasure a few weeks ago and could hardly wait for my friend and I to arrive so he could take us here. Not fancy but authentic to the core, from the restaurant itself to the food. Great menu and kick butt margaritas -- came back for round two the following day!

My son took me, and he is a chef. He went on and on about the authenticity, no canned menu with the same tacos and burritos every fast food place has. I had difficulty ordering because he was right... I asked about many items I did not know.....and I had more difficulty communicating with my server because she was new... More

Absolutely a must to go eat there. Best steak tacos I have ever had. Their food has great flavor. I would definitely recommend anyone to go there. I'm definitely going back. :)

Every time I go to Tlaloc I am amazed at how authentic and flavorful the food is. The building is not much to look at on Chase St. and you probably wouldn't stop there if you didn't know it had excellent food. I recommend you try it. The food and the service is excellent.

I love this place. It has got such an authentic atmosphere. The small eating area with the same table always hosting a group of Mexicans, Spanish spoken as a primary language, TV always on. The waitresses are always smiling. Food is nice, tasty, colorful. Portion are generous. I always end up bring so much food at home that my lunch... More

Prices are modest and servings are large at this north-side, popular-with-Hispanics, rough-n-ready roadside eatery. We had one pork carnitas, one plate of three enchiladas, for lunch. Very small, gratis appetizer of potato soup to start. That's nice, but it was quite bland. The very generous portion of carnitas was crusty-brown and wonderful-looking, sizzling on the plate with green peppers, onions,... More

I am a firm believer that chips and salsa says a lot about a place. This meal started w a bite that made me think about where my water glass was located. I ordered the grilled shrimp. The plate was filled with deliciousness. The rice and beans were really simply seasoned and the shrimp was really well prepared. I would... More

This place is a must see for people looking for different cultures' food, the place offers Mexican food at a very decent price, there is also enough parking which is a great thing!

Papuans are now one of my favorite things to eat! This really is a hole in the wall, but rarely have we had SUCH fresh, quality food.
