While visiting Sambo Creek, our taxi driver drove past this property with a giant palapa roof. I asked what kind of place was this and he said a restaurant that serves fish and since I was hungry, as was my son, we decided to stop. My son loves fried fish, we decided to give this place a go plus it has showers so that my son could wash off the beach sand. I'm very picky when it comes to sitting next to people. I cannot sit next to those who smoke, the smell of smoke will kill my appetite and I tried to sit away from any customers so I won't have to deal with any smokers. Anyway, I ordered the fried fish filet and my son got the whole fried fish. I asked the waiter to cut the head off and they complied. He enjoyed his fish all the way to the bones. See the pics. For me, however, I couldn't eat anything because the customers about five tables down from us decided to smoke up the joint with their cigarettes. The fish I ordered looked good and smelled good AND the cocktail was great however, I wished I had the chance to taste the fish right there overlooking the sea view instead of eating it back at the hotel once I nuked it. Based on that, it was good yet nuked food is never the same. We stayed for two hours and the waiter didn't bother us to get going, which I appreciate so much and had about two more cocktails. Oh yeah, this place is right in the heart of the Garifuna village of Sambo Creek. Do come back on a Sunday to see the authentic punta dancing.

The one in Sambo is a lot better, the food here is good, but the atmosphere is really depressing, its almost always empty when I have gone there. But sometimes you need to get that Conch soup and driving up to Sambo is a no go.

I went with my family expecting something good because its famous for its seafood due to the fact it is located in a fisher zone and its a garifuna type of food. We ordered a seafood soup which was lame, had no flavour but a lot of shrimp, without flavour. We ordered a picadito thats supposed to be fried shrimp, fish, conch and squid, they were over cooked and gummy and it was only fish. We ordered a butter garlic conch which was the only good plate. The only reason im giving 2 stars is for this plate. Overall too expensive for what they give you. And the prices in the menu you have to add the 25% which make the price go to the roof.

Prices are astonishly high vrs the very bad taste in food. The seafood soup was awfuly salty, and its seafood taste like it was very old. Its not fresh, and everything what we asked for was not on existance. Very bad food.

A nice big restaurant right on the beach in Sambo Creek with a very diverse menu with local fish being the speciality. Prices are reasonable and the food is very tasty. There is a second story deck over looking the water. The staff speaks english.
