Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is a nice little walk (safe) from the Palma Real Beach. Good food and friendly service. It has a great seating area right next to the beach and plenty of room for the entire family. Sit and enjoy the view while the kids swim in the warm, clean pool.

The hosts were very nice and went out of their way to make sure our stay was the very best. The facility could use some upkeep.

We came here a few times to hang out, drink and swim in the pool. The owner is American and speaks English. The guy took care of us every time we came by.

Wow what a beautiful place! Located just outside of la ceiba off the beaten track and it couldn’t be any closer to the beach! The room was spacious and the bathroom had a big walk in shower, my room was cleaned everyday and left with fresh toiletries and towels. Flat screen tv and air conditioning and a coffee maker also in the room. The swimming pool was nice and right in front of the bar! The food was great! So much so that locals would often come to this place for food and drinks at the weekends! As for the owner Richard he went above and beyond to make my stay a fabulous one..from arranging my pick up to and from the airport with no hassle, giving me lifts on my first couple of days to where I needed to go, and helping me get a motor-taxi when I needed it! Also when I would get back to the hotel at mid day! He would have fresh coconuts cut from the tree for me and he even made me some fresh noni juice which he had picked and made from his own tree! A great guy who I now consider as a good friend! The hammock dec was the best! Especially to chill and watch the sunrise and sunset! Thank you Richard! I’m truly grateful for all the help and making my stay fabulous Ian

They have something for everyone. When we first saw the menu, we thought that there wqas no way that this little place could prepare such a variety of dishes. Night after night, they proved us wrong.

I think you was taking to the wrong hotel , you never enter the hotel, and the man how gave you a ride wanted to see your room and we do not give your information, but reservation was here, we was waiting for you to come in we told him to have come what happing to you is a scam that the taxis do the driver took from the hot spring took you to anther hotel , the hamacas were he gets a commission. you call three times and we try to call you back , this is what I tell all my guest. Hi, I'm the owner of a hotel in Honduras, La Ceiba, La Delphina Bed and breakfast Bar and Grill hotel. I'm here to inform you of a scam that going on in La Ceiba with the taxis. Some hotel, hostels are paying commission to the taxis to take you to their hotel. What happens that once you get off the bus, ferry or airport they rush and take your bags and next thing it's in a taxis, then they tell you how dangerous it is, that it’s far from where you’re going take you to a hotel that pay them commission, The taxis charge so when you find out that you’re at the wrong Hotel you have to pay for another taxis to take you to right hotel. The hotel is in the scam, they tell you that you are the right place and if not they will give you a better price then the hotel you reserved so you pay twice. The hotel you reserved and the new hotel. A perfect example, you make a reservation at the hotel La Delphina bed and Breakfast Bar and Grill one of best hotel in La Ceiba, we don't pay commission. Our good service is all we need. Then the taxis will try to take you to hotel like Delfin sound like it, but it not, make sure you tell them, la Delphina, the other hotel will try to tell you that you are at the right place, and they will give you better price so before you move and get into the taxis make sure he or she knows where they going and how much $15.00 or 300 LP from anywhere in La Ceiba to La Delphina make sure before he or she moves, that the you everything work out before you get in the taxis the price if not get another taxis. Call or email the hotel and let them know you need a taxis or a ride most hotel have their bus or taxis that will pick you up. For La Delphina 504-9936-7715 or email at ladelphina@hotmail.com. We have our own taxis that work for the Hotel, we will pick you up from San Pedro Sula or any ware in La Ceiba.

I already reviewed the hotel (which we loved), but thought the restaurant here deserved it's own review. Even if you are not staying here, it is worth the trip to grab dinner and drinks. Dinner tables on his back porch are just feet from the sand with the ocean breaking pretty much at your feet. The setting for the price is unbeatable. I also had a damn good fish, and one of the girls ordered the filet which we all agreed was one of the best steaks we'd ever had. NO NEED FOR A1! : )

Our mission team of 11 ate a very late dinner here recdntly. Richard was totally accomodating. The food was good , sandwiches, pasta, fries, seafood, etc. The service was a bit slow because the power kept going out- no real worries. Prices were fair enough and he was very friendly and spent much time visiting with us. The beach location is the real draw for this place. Super.

We went in family to La Ceiba, Honduras. Just to spend a night as we next day had a flight to go yo Cayman Island (which by the way is a very good route. Fast and cheap). as we had several hours after arriving to La Ceiba and also next day fligth was late in the afternoon we decided to look for something on the beach to spend the night. Luckily we found this little pearl about 15-20 minutes outside of the city. Beatiful small little hotel. We met the owner., who used to live in Boston for some 40 years. Everyone at the hotel speaks excellent english. The food was superb. Beach front rooms are brand new and really nice. There is the beach but also a pool. WIFI and cable (or was it satellite) TV. Good prices and very nice staff. We recommend it to everyone.

We stopped by the grill for dinner and a few drinks. The food was excellent and Richard is a hoot. Conch, calamari, seafood...you name it...it was well prepared. If you're in the mood for something spicy, the diablo dishes can cause pain!

Richards reponse to MAJ are complete lies. $185 was posted to my VISA card for two nights stay with one extra breakfast and a lunch which I purchased. The bill was paid in full. I think because of the recent downturn in business in Honduras Richard has become greedy (see other reviews). On the way to his hotel all he did was put down his new neighbor who has opened up a restaurant next door. I thought it was really unprofessional to drag the guests into his disputes with his neighbor. I felt Richards eyes bearing down on me when I went to check out the restaurant next door. When I returned Richard said "you know you can eat lunch here". I said I knew that and I did. When I arrived there I immediately wanted to leave but Richard had already swiped my card to "start me out" with $100 on my card. So, I decided I could stay anywhere for 2 nights. When I got my bill the room said I had a queen with ocean view and cable tv. I did not have an ocean view or cable tv and said I would not pay for something I did not have. I'm not going to waste my time responding to the rest of the lies. You can also read my reviews on the Lighthouse in Utila and the Grand Paris in La Ceiba and decide for yourself. I just don't appreciate someone saying I did not pay my bill. Also, talk to Dante over at Paradise found. That's where I spent the next night while Dante made me green tea (for my upset stomach) and took very good care of me. Thanks Dante! I will not respond to any more of Richards rants. This is a forum with opinions and mine is for you to not stay there or eat there. I think just reading his reponse gives any intelligent person an insight to his personality. By the way, I spent 6 weeks in Honduras and this was the only place I got sick.
