The food, on a Guatemalan scale, was excellent, and the service was prefect! All staff I encountered had a good grasp of English and were patient as I practiced my Spanish. They are attentive and eager to please. Be aware that the standard meal in Guatemala is served at a much slower pace than in the US, which is quite... More

From breakfast to sunset, gaze out at the volcanoes and watch the lake change as the winds pick up. Watch the launcheros skillfully guide their boats through waves while discharging people at Mayan communities throughout the Lake. It seems you can see forever. Now do this while sipping on a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and eating fresh shrimp that has been... More

Worth coming here for drinks or a meal just to visit the spectacularly landscaped gardens and say hi to the parrots who will say "Hola!" back to you.

We went to see the Botanical gardens and eat lunch. If you eat in the restaurant you can get into the gardens for free. Totally worth it for an afternoon. My son got the club sandwich which was fantastic, I got a panini, my husband got fajitas. Everything was a good size portion and a great price considering the view... More

Staff were friendly and helpful. The setting, especially the outdoor patio, is perfect. Food was fresh and presentation was attractive. Organic vegetables and salad greens are grown on site. All water on site is purified so there is little chance of tummy disorders.

We were celebrating a five year anniversary of our non-profit organization we were traveling wit, and decided that this would be the perfect place to do it. Were we right. We had all ages from 9-70, and everyone found food that they were happy with. I had a pasta dish, and even though it was very good, I found myself... More

So you are probably not going to Guatemala for the onion soup but if you go to Hotel Atitlan be sure to order it. Not too salty. Practically caramelized onions and delicious local cheese on top. I had the caprese salad and it was sandwich mozzarella not fresh and rather than balsamic vinegar glaze it was something like cranberry sauce.... More

The view is always spectacular, the breakfast..outstanding. Later in the day is somewhat "iffy" due to Mosquitos but nothing a little bug repellant won't take care of.

We wanted to have lunch at the restaurant after visiting the Reserva, and were informed by the person at the entrance that there was a Q55 fee (about $7) to enter the grounds, even just to eat at the restaurant. We did not want to tour the gardens, just have lunch, so continued on our way.
