We ate here the last two days in a row. The hushpuppies were legendary. And the oysters were better than any I have had in Texas. Highly, highly recommended. Don't miss the wooden boat museum, either. It is way cool. The ambiance takes you back to old florida. I love this place.

We took our family who were visiting from out of town! Waited 1 hour and 50 minutes from the time we ordered our food to delivery to the table. It was cold and not good! Shame on the manager for not visiting our table after we repeatedly expressed concern! Customers and even wait staff noticed the length of time. We... More

From the kitty cats that roam, to the pelicans that sun......plus the fishing boats that inspire adventure of all ages - a must eat while visiting area. Excellent service by Heather and wimderfulnfood from the kitchen. All ages, all appetites and interests. Take the ferry across for extra fun but pay attention to your time as the last one ran... Good food and shabby chic ambiance. I've always had good meals at reasonable prices. You actually sit at wooden picnic tables lined up inside a crusty old doc with a roof on it. You can also sit outside and enjoy the view of the river and the shrimp boats that dock nearby. It's all a bit crusty and sometimes a... More

This place is so relaxed that if it wasn't for the very good seafood and the view of the river and ferryboat crossing, you would expect to see beach chairs. I had the fried oysters with onion strings (forget the rings) and partner had the grilled mahi. Always a good choice. This place fits the name of Shack because it... More

We have been eating here every time we come to the Jacksonville area. It is. A little out of the way but well worth it. We always do the lunch baskets. Usually the fried oysters, steamed shrimp and grilled scallops. Those are ALWAYS very good. I have tried the grilled fish basket a couple times and to me those are... More

Our daughter, her boyfriend and two of their friends were on spring break from college and they were staying in Fernandina for a few days. We met them at Singletons for dinner last night and had a great time and everyone enjoyed their food. We started with the raw oysters (I did not eat them but everyone else did) and... More

We stopped at Singleton's on the way back from the Concours. While we were there we ordered a lobster sandwich. The only thing Lobster about the sandwich was the name. Some sort of mystery meat that had no consistency no characteristics of lobster whatsoever. Only brought it to their attention they said sorry. They indicated they thought it was Lobster... More

The restaurant is bigger than it appears, with a screened porch (where we ate) and a deck. The location can't be beat, with views right on the river. Food was good, service was prompt. A good casual spot for food.

We started with a bowl of Minorcan Clam Chowder. ($6) It was like vegetable soup with lots of clams. We wished we had gotten the New England style. I had the Oyster Po' Boy ($11) which was served on an open faced hoagie bun. It was piled high with lightly battered oysters and onion strings. Out of this world. They... More
