We tried to eat lunch here based on the great reviews and the menu looked good, we were told there was only one waitress working, and she was so busy that she would not have time to seat us. I was slightly relieved as the...More
We have dined here several times in the past when visiting Anna Maria Island and always had a satisfying, interesting experience. Recently, three of us went there without a reservation, fully expecting that we wouldn't be seated, and were thrilled that they were able to...More
Was very grateful that they took us in and fed us so well when we got the feeling they were just closing really.
One of the few places in Anna Maria where we got great food at a good price.
Would definitely recommend
We have visited this restaurant before and been satisfied but this occasion was different. The restaurant was empty (Tuesday evening...so yes, maybe a quiet night but other restaurants were busy...)
Many of the wines on the wine list were unavailable so we were given a...More
We had a little trouble finding this place but it is next to Ginnys on the corner. Ok--here's what I got: homemade cuban bread made into french toast dipped in creme brulee batter with crusty cinnamon topping STUFFED with sweet cream and fresh berries (blackberries,...More
Food was decent. I had the lady Wellington it had a decent amount of seafood in it. The shrimp and grits appetizer was the best but Do not get dessert. Key lime desserts were not good and didn't resemble anything like key lime. .
We got to the restaurant at 6:30 and we’re the only people in the place, our server seemed friendly but could not remember our order after taking the order 3 times, there were out of 2 of the 3 things we wanted and service was...More

Gathered here recently on vacation with dear friends. While under the impression this was fine dining, all it takes is one step in the door to see very clearly that it isn't a fine dining establishment at all. The inside seems neglected of care; threadbare...More
One night we dined by a large group having steaks. Do not believe The Mermaid serves lobster. But my personal preference, while on the island, is to stick with the local seafood. And the chef/owner treats it superbly.
