Visually, a dive. Basement setting. Dimly lit. Didn't smell great. It was a leap of faith to sit down and order. But boy were we glad we did. This is not Tex Mex. And I'm not sure if it is authentic Mexican. But the flavors were absolutely huge and had a great balance of chili, citrus, and spices adding to... More

Enjoyed it last ski season and decided to take a different group there this year. The service is attentive, cheerful and fun. The drinks sublime. The food either off the menu or the specials creative and delicious. Oaxacan chicken in a mole sauce, Pork tacos, and chicken tamales are great. It's not easy to find, even when you know where... an average rating for average food. I found our food not fresh. It was deliciously made, but you can tell when the ingredients are not fresh. The guacamole was brownish meaning it had been sitting around a day. The tamales were delicious as was the bean soup. Had potential to be excellent, but the staleness was obvious.

Just finished our 4th visit to this partially hidden gem in Aspen. The commitment to really creative Oxaca influenced offerings is impressive and well executed. The queso appetizer and the guac are great starters and the duck and skirt steak meals were well spiced and delicious...the mousse dessert is required

This little place is tucked away underground. Its small and cozy. The decorations are similar to those of the region where the food is from. The food was really good.

My husband and I were looking for a 'new' place to have dinner in Aspen. Our criteria......someplace we hadn't been before (check), interesting/good food (triple check), reasonable price (double check) and fun environment (double check)..... The service, starting with our welcome, introduction to the premise and goals of the chef, were awesome. Very interesting variety of food - don't come... More

I was very impressed by the menu selections and food. Not your average Mexican - much more latin inspired. Wonderful. I had a shrimp dish and my hubby had chicken in a mole sauce. Both were great. THe margaritas were also excellent. Pricing is fair - a nice surprise for the uber pricey downtown Aspen scene. Casual - not fancy... More

Wednesday night. Recommended by our hotel desk person, we found this place off to the side of the main strip and down a flight of steep stairs. My pulled turkey taco with pumpkin mole was OK, even though the turkey tasted like beef and I couldn't taste the mole at all. My companion's salad was average. No free appetizer. Even... More

It had been about 9 months since our last visit. Wait staff was all new and very attentive. This is one of our favorite places to go as it tastes so different. Subtle complexities. We have an 8 year old and they made him this amazing steak quesadilla with cilantro that he loved. My wife and I split a salad... More

Took new Australian acquaintances here to introduce them to something they'd never had. Food was excellent, drinks were excellent and service was even better. Have had a lot of Mexican, Caribbean, and southwest food over the years and our experience here was up there with the best of them.
