Food was great. Chili verde burrito was nice and spicy. Very tasty! Tacos were fine. Pork was the best, we tried the chicken, steak too. Place was really small. It's more of a take it to go and eat on the beach. It's just a 1 min walk and a great view of the ocean. No water but we did... More

Landing passage is easily accessed off the walking part of Front Street, about mid way, and to the northwest, opposite the municipal parking lot. No ocean view but the beach is just a short walk away. A popular with locals and would-be locals during Thursday night Farmers' Markets during the summer. Last one will be September 29th. Although nothing to... More

Went for lunch on a Wednesday. Expected to open at 11:00 but for some reason did not open until around noon. Wanted the shrimp tacos but they no longer offer them. Had the fish taco and not bad but for the price ($4.99 each) expected more.

We're mexican and 2 things unfortunately we're prejudiced against. Non authentic mexican restaurants and mexican restaurants outside of East LA. The first because my wife and mother-in-law are amazing cooks-so we rarely eat out Mexican food. Then living in LA, just allows us to differentiate good from bad mexican restaurants based on all the selections we have here. Having said... More

Not sure what is up with this place. I was really looking forward to trying this place. Walked by it during lunch, in the afternoon and at dinner and it was closed. This was Friday, July 15, 2016. All signs said it should have been open.

After having less-than-fresh fish and chips at a couple of different places, we decided to control off the main drag and found this hole-in-the wall, restaurant. Seating is minimal but flavor is max. The fish tacos were made with grilled, red snapper that had it an awesome spice rub on it. Yum! Will come back every trip! You should too.

Had the fish tacos and a chicken salad and it was really good. If you want something quick and not too expensive, this is the place.

The taco shack is a cute little place a block from the beach. We stopped for lunch during our stay in Avila Beach. We were pleasantly surprised, very fresh veggies and grilled fish. It was a very pleasant lunch and I'd stop there again.
