We stop in here when ever we are near Alameda for beers and a great sandwich. The staff is very friendly and efficient; some even speak German. With outside seating, they provide a nice beer garden atmosphere. The pulled pork and schnitzel sandwiches are both standout items along with the Schwarzbier (mild chocolate flavor). Great authentic cuisine!

Good food, pleasant atmosphere, easy to reach with decent parking! Veal dishes are particularly memorable.

Great food and service. Even vegetarians could be fed well. I'm not one, love the veal. Outside tables are nice. Note; limited menu between lunch & dinner service.

Great traditional German fare. Decent wine list, and good cocktails. Service was excellent. They handled a family birthday party of eleven without a hitch.

As I wondered around Alameda close to lunchtime, acclimatising on my first day to the new surroundings, I noticed a German flag in the distance. Thinking it was a garage, imagine my surprise in realising it was a restaurant. After a peruse of the menu, it was apparent this was not a cheap bodge up job, it actually had a... More

Speisekammer is a go-to of mine for delicious German food and beer. There is plenty of seating and a casual feel to the place. The service is very organized and friendly. If there is a drawback it's the parking. They have some parking. There is also street parking but not much is open. I did find public pay parking next... More

We go there a lot due to their support for live music and local bands. Drinks and food are good and service is excellent!

Food is very good but the atmosphere is better. Great location with great entertainment on weekends. A slice of Germany right in Alameda

We drove here from a hotel near the airport. It's in a cozy neighborhood, and the restaurant has a homey feel. Looks like outdoor patio, but it's January so no outside seating tonight. Instead we had mulled wine and the best schnitzel I've had in awhile. Great service, laid back atmosphere, and fantastic food. Prices were reasonable too. Highly recommend!!

Thank Jennifer H
