Went here for my son's birthday at his request and really enjoyed ourselves. Recommend the chef cooking at your table for a fresh piping hot meal cooked to order. The salmon is great as was the different steaks. Set your saki on the cooktop to keep it warm.

I went with my friends to this restaurant and had a great time. The food is fresh and tasty and the sheaf is cooking the food you choose on the table in front of you.

We always sit at the sushi bar. The guys that work there are very good, pleasant and fun. There are some fun rolls and some average rolls but they all taste really good. The hostesses are ALWAYS rude and that sucks. I never see any management around otherwise I may have said something by now about them.

There is so much expensive Sushi out there and it is great to find a neighborhood gem like Yamato. It is not only a sushi restaurant (they have teppan and entrees as well), but we love it for the wide variety of high grade sushi. We took our New York City relatives there after a day at Universal Studios and... More

Good food, but can be cleaner (particularly the sushi bar). Prices are okay, parking and service is good. Dinner costs more than lunch. I eat there often and especially like the hand roll lunch special, $10 for 3 hand rolls, soup and salad included. Friendly staff.

Excellent sushi and sashimi, as well as traditional Japanese dishes, including tableside chef preparations, in an adequate atmosphere at good prices.

We stopped for lunch and was disappointed by the food, service and restaurant. The place itself is dark and dank. Our waitress seemed like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us. The food was average at best. I will not be returning to this Yamato in the future.

A good Japanese Restaurant, has been consistently pleasing my palate for decades! Enjoy delicious Sushi & Teppanyaki Grill. They offer are the first and only Authentic Japanese Restaurant in Agoura that offers “all you can eat” at an amazingly affordable price!

I go to Yamato often, either for lunch meetings or with the family for dinner. The kids love the cooking table show and the food.

I have been to this restaurant several times over the past few years. I think the food has gone progressively downhill. On a recent visit the hibachi chicken was tough. The"chef" did not put on much of a show. It has been better in the past. Luckily only two of the six people in our party got diarrhea that night.
