The restaurant was quite full and the menu were typical mexican. We ordered ceviche and another dish. It was quite good and the prices correct.

While visiting DC with my boyfriend, our meal in this restaurant was my overwhelming favorite. From the minute we walked in, I could tell this establishment is well frequented. Our snarky and super helpful waiter, Angel, could tell I was new to the mole scene...More

We started with the Kekas. The tortilla wasn't great but the filling was good. Then we had tacos de carnitas e tacos de borrego. Carnitas tacos were mediocre, flavorless and dry. Borrego tacos were a bit better but still not great. Nice staff.

Small dishes were just the right amount. Fall specials menu has pumpkin or squash in every dish; which I loved. Not a fan of the special cocktails, though the Tamarindo drink is the real deal but disappointed the glass was more full of ice than...More

After ordering drinks, waiter told us that every dish contains cilantro. Sadly it you were born with the gene that make cilantro tastes like soap (or worse for on my case), you will not like this restaurant. We left without ordering.

I guess I was expecting more. I think the Negro Mole over Chicken Breast with rice and black beans was okay. I was disappointed in bland atmosphere and the service. I ordered a Margarita (Happy Hour special for $5) and I got a $5 drink....More

This is NOT authentic Mexican food. In fact, this place is an insult to the state of Oaxaca. Take the "kekas" pictured on their website; rather than blue corn quesadillas, we got some light shade of purple I have never seen in two years living...More

Went here based on the menu and the "Best of DC" ad posted outside and expecting something to merit the name "Oaxaca." I should have returned my dish (mole poblano with chicken) to the kitchen. The chicken was dry, dry, dry and the mole sauce...More

Do you want authentic Mexican regional cuisine? If you want tex-mex, then go somewhere else. You want phenomenal skirt steak, skirt steak tacos, amazing margueritas and chips and salsa with a kick, then come to this small, but wonderful gem in Adams-Morgan. I am not...More

I went here for dinner one Saturday night. I'm vegan; my date was a pork-eating carnivore. She had something with pork (maybe the tacos?); I had a dish with shitaake mushrooms and huitlacoche. We both loved our meals, and the hibiscus cocktails were delicious! Not...More
