This is a very popular place, so be sure to make reservations. The menu has many delectable tapas selections. The waiter does advise that they will come out whenever they're ready, so try to remember what you've ordered, or simply share to avoid confusion. The...More

The server recommended we order three items each but we'd have been stuffed if we had. We just wanted a nice light lunch. Service was a bit snotty but food was fresh and great.

This is a winner and so fun to share plates. I went with my daughter who is a student at GW. Excellent server and the choices were endless. The Margaritas are delicious along with the Guacamole - don't miss ist.

Great vibrant food, don't care if it's your grandma's Mexican food, it well thought out and executed. Love the spicy michelada (sp?) worth the trip itself for me. Not the cheapest food in town, but it's a branded Think-food group gaff and they are serious...More

I think there is no dish you are going to dislike. We truly enjoyed the flavors of this place and tried some of their most famous dishes. The "Queso Fundido con Chorizo" is awesome and the Guavamole which they prepare in front of you at...More

We visited Oyamel for lunch and found great service, attentiveness to a food allergy and big flavor. Among the things our table sampled were seated Mahdi mani taco with fresh cabbage, house made mayo, pickled ancho chiles and onions. Another taco was braised, roasted brisket...More

Stopped by with a group of five without a reservation a weekday. This place was really busy, so you should make a reservation if you don't want to wait an hour. Luckily, we found a spot at a high table, and could start with the...More

Oyamel combines Mexico's rich regional diversity with the modern urban atmosphere of Mexico City. The liveliness of the dining room is matched by the creativity of the menu and cocktail list, featuring antojitos-Mexican small plates-ceviches and tacos, plus unique margaritas, and an impressive array of wines and tequilas. Originally opened in 2004 in the Crystal City neighborhood of Arlington, Oyamel moved to its current home in the Penn Quarter in March of 2007.
