When I have discovered this bakery I fall in love. Fantastic food to a reasonable price. Even it was busy in the morning as many people are just rushed, the staff was friendly and I could enjoy my breakfast. I went back the next day and will come back to ant time.

So I found this place on TripAdvisor, actually, and the tip that the address was wrong was critical to finding it. It has moved to Q street near the Dupont Circle metro. The baked goods are incredible -- I had a "healthy" fruit and nut muffin that was too huge to be healthy but resembled the best carrot cake I've... More

this bakery is not far from the Dupont Circle metro entrance. It sells a variety of baked goods, including tarts and cupcakes, as well as enormous cookies. You can also buy cookies in smaller sizes in clamshell containers.

Located north of Dupont Circle now, not at the Phillips, it is a quaint little shop with strong coffee, amazing baked goods (especially if you have a sweet tooth) and a local favorite. Location: 1909 Q. Street, NW

We ate breakfast here two mornings in a row. Traditional bakery atmosphere, small but mighty. The ham and cheese croissant, banana nut muffins, yoghurt parfait, etc. all excellent. Two can enjoy a nice, simple breakfast for around ten dollars.

None of the reviewers mentioned that this place has moved to Q St between 19th and 20th! Apparently it moved a few years ago from the Phillips. So why didn't anyone else say anything? In any case, the baked goods are excellent but none of the staff know what TripAdvisor is so don't expect an updated location. P.S. Even the... More

Always super fresh baked goods, with a wide variety. Great for carry out. Salads a real bargain for a quick lunch-tuna, pasta, chicken, orzo, pasta. Don't come for greens...

When we stopped and asked someone about breakfast, they said there is only one place to go...Firehook. They were right. The ham & cheese croissant was delicious and the French fruit tart perfect. This is a nice little place for on the go but it really needs outdoor seating. Good value, great food and quick service.
