Walked all the way from the Natural History museum to the Mitsitam Native Food Cafe because I was told they serve excellent elk and bison food. I was not disappointed. I enjoyed a very tasty elk burger with all the trimmings, especially the cranberry sauce and very nice dusted fries, combined with a nice seasonal pumpkin IPA beer (actually pleasantly... More

I had the yellow beet salad and hominy and watercress salad. My husband had cedar plank salmon. My nephew had the bacon rolled fish. I had a small apptite, but liked my choices. I sampled my husband's salmon and it was ok. It is difficult to make fish for a large number of people and have it sit in a... More

This is by far my favorite restaurant on the mall (including the food trucks). The choices are incredible and there is something for everyone from buffalo burgers to halibut to fried dough (fry bread). The soups are tasty. The servings are big enough to share. The pic included is adobo chicken taco on fry bread and fry bread with powdered... More

We were visiting several museums and when it came to lunch I feared we'd be trapped at McDonald's, very pleased to find this place instead. Funny place where you pick up a tray when you arrive and then choose between several counters, then pay the cashier at the end before finding a seat. I had fried bread (like a non-sweet... More

Fantastic choices organized by region. The plains states bison offerings were probably the most popular, but equally delicious pacific northwest salmon. The southwest fry breads with variety of toppings are great for kids. Lobster cauliflower mash was a hit as well

Perfect lunch break from the Mall Museums so we could have some crispy Fry Bread and Honey. With a salad, we were good to go.

Highly rated by food critics, esp among museum restaurants. Food is well-prepared but most tends to be too sweet. Nice place for relaxed lunch or business lunch but if museum food usually seems expensive, be prepared for sticker shock here. I go about once every other year with out-of-town guests if I am nearby but am careful about how much... More

This was a disappointment after all my friends told me how amazing it was supposed to be. My buffalo burger was the size of one in a lids meal, and the whole process was beyond chaotic--too many people going too many directions. It's true they have a variety, but they seem to have crossed the line into far too much... More

After spending the morning at the National Museum of the American Indian (part of the Smithsonian) we decided to take a chance at the new restaurant inside the museum. I wasn't sure if I would like anything because I'm not that adventurous. I was happily surprised. It is upscale cafeteria style: with separate ordering areas by region. There was Salmon... More
