This was our best meal in downtown DC, not just the mall! It's a great place to try things you are unlikely to ever get elsewhere. This is worth the stop even if you bypass the museum exhibits.

My husband and I were both disappointed by the food selection and the high prices for a cafeteria. Since we have traveled to South America and Mexico, we were familiar with many of the regional foods but the menu at the Mitsitam Cafe seemed like...More

The best thing of the National Museum of the American Indian is its restaurant. I had buffalo burger which was delicious although not the cheapest. I would absolutely suggest who is anywhere nearby.

Me and my girlfriend took Peru chicken, she took with potatoes and I took with yuka fries. Not expensive. The funny part is that it's African Americans that are cooking the food haha and not native Americans.

My grandson said it was the best taco he had ever eaten and he has eaten many! The choice of dishes is quite varied and interesting. We would return to sample another dish. I thought the prices were high.

The various sections cover different food types from pizza to fried chicken and roast turkey. But we had some fried bread with chilli and specified trimmings. To look at, we thought it would be stodgy but it wasn't. The chilli was mild and flavoursome. Prices...More

I was really expecting wonderful food but was sadly disappointed. The food was bland and overpriced. The staff were rude and would barely acknowledge your presence let alone answer any questions about the food. Don't waste your time or money.

We got some delicious variety of food for lunch here. My son had the Northwest bison burger (with salmon mousse!) and it was incredible. The fry bread with cinnamon sugar was sinful and the salmon and sprouts were great. I did not love the bison...More

I never thought I'd write a review for a museum restaurant, but this place is really good. There aren't many good restaurants on the Mall. We actually returned to the museum the day after we visited it just to eat here. Yes, the prices are...More

I enjoyed the Green Chili Chicken Hominy Soup. My friend enjoyed the flavorful fruit salad and buffalo burger.

The style is kind of mix and match. The Northern Woodlands is the best bet for the picky kid, but you may want to mention burger and fries and not necessarily that it's bison. There is also turkey dinner that if the child... More
