In the heart of Georgetown , across the street from the 4 Seasons Hotel, I thought Taj of India might be a great low key Indian restaurant to try. However, it turned out to be the most bland Indian food I could imagine. All well prepared, great service and great atmosphere. But someone told the chef to use tasteless spices... More

A treat in Georgetown for Indian food. Nice service, helpful staff. Decent wine selection and assortment of Indian flavors and dishes. Try the chicken malai kabab, saag paneer, aloo gobi masala, and lamb pasada for an interesting and satisfying assortment to share. The chicken tikka masala was a bit skimpy and dry, only issue. Definitely worth a stop.

It was Thanksgiving Night and my wife and I were visiting the DC area. The service was wonderful; the food fantastic; the atmosphere was great and the price was very good. Definitely a must do if your in the DC area and love authentic Indian Food.

The butter chicken, meat samosa and garlic naan were all very good - just wish delivery had not taken 2 hours. Used the online order entry option on their website. Received confirmation email with estimated delivery. 20 minutes after estimated delivery we called - "we have no record of your order". Stay away from their website order option and just... More

This is a cramped restaurant with a lot of heart. A very diverse clientele from caucasian, spanish, south east asian, Filipino, you would be surprised ! The food was extraordinary for the price. If you are vegetarian, try the Thali, a little bit of everything for a reasonable price. The service is a bit slow but definitely get reservations ahead... More

My wife and I regularly go this reliable restaurant on the edge of Georgetown because of its reliably tasty food, with many vegetarian options; stylish, yet cosy interior; more than fair price setting; and very friendly service.

I usually do not write many reviews on restaurants, however, this time I felt compelled to share my experience. I went in the middle of the day, around 4 pm and the restaurant was relatively quiet, about 3-4 other customers. However, from the moment I walked in, I was treated as if I was a HUGE inconvenience to the restaurant.... More

Lovely atmosphere, super service and delicious food and beer. We ate here about a week ago while on a coach tour of North America. Staff were all friendly and helpful the menu had a wide choice on it. We really enjoyed our meals.

Quaint little restaurant with very attentive and friendly staff. Food was good and we selected two Thali plates to try a range of meat and vegetable dishes together with a tandoori mixed grill. This provided plenty of food for all three of us. Overall was a good experience. Would order a specific dish next time as those I saw on... More

We'd had two very good meals at Taj of India in Georgetown six or more months ago, but last night's experience was very disappointing. It took 45 minutes for appetizers to arrive, and when they did they were bland and leaden. Our butter chicken entree was lukewarm and had to be sent back to be reheated. The tandoori salmon was...
