I cannot emphasize strongly enough how terrible this place was. i went for my birthday (which I mentioned when making the reservation). we were seated by kitchen, with all kinds of smells. ordered chinese fondue, got oil burns, fondue fork burning hot, sauces were disgusting, artificial, cheap, like out of some industrial size plastic bag. flames under fondues kept going... Tired and in search of a good salad or entree for dinner, we walked the short distance from our hotel and read the menu in the window of The Melting Pot. After deciding it was possible to order both salad as well as an entree (without the,(not so fond of fondue offered) we entered the restaurant. Once seated, a waiter... More

This is a pretty average theme restaurant. It's a Fondue place that seems overpriced for what you get. I was here with friends back in January. The food and service was average, not much else to say.

Wow! That's the reaction our entire family had while dining at the Melting Pot. From the very first bite, we were MORE than impressed. We were simply in love! We ordered two of the "Big Night Out - Four Course Meals" which cost around $45 each. We shared these two meals among 5 of us and we actually had plenty... More

We made early reservations on a Wednesday, and there was hardly anyone there. We were pleased with the service. The wait staff patiently explained all of the different options. The meal was paced nicely. The food and atmosphere were relaxing. We had fun fondueing our food! It was my birthday, so the restaurant generously provided a slice of cheesecake with... More

The DC melting pot is tucked into a basement on a partially residential street, making it seem like a secret spot. It can get crouded, so reservations are a good thing especially on the weekends. They frequently have specials if you sign up on their website. Lunch is a good time to visit if you want the fondue experience without... More

I'm trying to stick to my principals on ratings with trip advisor.....Very good should be 3 with excellant at 4 and superior at 5. This would be a solid 3.5. I had a wonderful time doing fondue for the first time in a decade. All the ingredients were first rate and the service was better than many places I would... More
