Go here to experience the "real" D.C. crowd and enjoy very good French bistro cuisine. It was PACKED and bustling when we ate there (on a Saturday). Service was exellent, and the food was very good. I have had better escargots, but the veal fricasse - the evening's special - was excellent. Authentic French feeling in every way!

I have lived in France and this was good French food. Ir you think there will be 3 Michelin stars because it's French Nd in DC you'll be disappointed. Enjoy it for what it is: a great bistro. The food was based on traditional recipes but given individual character. Foie gras was a great start and the pork cheeks were... More

Once again, it's always great to go back to Bistro Lepic where you can find your favorite dishes like the braised veal cheeks and new delicious items in the menu, service is alway great and friendly, I can't wait to go back next time I am in DC.

For a Sunday lunch to celebrate our friend's 90th birthday, we chose to eat French food at Bistrot Lepic. We were seated in the window at a small table. The excellent waitress came almost immediately. We selected a champagne to go with our food which included a small onion quiche, followed by trout entre, cassoulet, and an omelette with bacon,... We were in DC, have eaten here repeatedly over the years, and this night, a Saturday night, was a total miss. The food was so-so, uninspired. I had a special, a fish dish, and it was overcooked, boring. We had dessert, and then they brought us the check without asking whether we cared for some coffee. What? And then, it... More

Dear Clemence, We want to thank you for your review and express our apology for the experience you had this past Saturday night. We would have loved the opportunity to change your fish entree as you did find it over cooked, if only you had mentioned it when your server checked on your entrees. We have been in business for... There are many fine restaurants in Washington DC and many fine neighborhood restaurants. With the help of friends, we stumbled upon a small French bistro in NW Washington not far from the Dumbarton Oaks--the Bistrot Lepic. What a pleasant surprise. The menu was not extensive but it had meat, fish, chicken and vegetarian selections along with a few specials. The wine... More

Delicious food perfectly prepared, a terrific wine list, warm and prompt service, even when it's a full house on a busy night. The best French restaurant in DC!

My wife and I had dinner with our friend(since high school which was a long time ago) and had an excellent meal with very good service. The noise level was moderate considering that we were in the first floor dining area which is a small, long and narrow room. My duck breast was excellent as was the broiled scallops and... More

We go here often because it IS just around the corner from our house. So it counts as a neighborhood gem. But the restaurant really evokes Paris with traditional dishes like rognons (kidneys) perfectly prepared, a nice and decently priced wine list, a white tablecloth dining room and a reproduction of the famous Caillbotte Rainy Day in Paris painting on... The restaurant downstairs is the original part, but it is the Wine Bar upstairs that I adore. With low wicker chairs in groups around coffee tables, it is simultaneously casual and elegant. There is still an ample menu to choose from. Mondays and Wednesdays have live music, usually French jazz or 1940s ballads. Fairly easy to find street parking on... More
