Dining at La Perla takes you back to a time when restaurants were quiet, elegant and let the food speak for itself. La Perla's dining room is spacious, tables are not crowded one on top of the other. Large windows overlook Pennsylvania Avenue and the western edge of Rock Creek Park. The menu is extensive and features traditional Italian cuisine... More

We had dinner before a Saturday night opera at Kennedy center. We found free street parking right outside the restaurant so we didn't use their valet service but the sign said $6. We were the first in the restaurant at 5 so reservations didn't seem necessary. We had the seafood antipasto which was very good. It is definitely large enough... More

This is an exceptional upscale Italian restaurant in Georgetown. We were visiting DC during the week of Valentine's day and made reservations at Le Perla. The restaurant was over 3/4 full but not noisy; we easily had a nice conversation while eating. The service was attentive, not hovering, and we did not feel rushed. The food was excellent as we... Went for an early lunch. Great atmosphere and attention by the staff. Branzino for one, shrimp and scallops for the other. Cooked perfectly, great flavor and presentation. Salads were good too. No time for desert, but they looked fabulous. The pictures on the wall attest to the storied history of La Perla. Definitely worth a visit.

What an elegant Italian dinner! From the greeting at the door, every moment is a delight and every morsel to be savored! We enjoy going to dinner before shows at The Kennedy Center (very simple drive) plus they offer $6 valet parking so no need to do laps in the GW district!

The ambience and food are spectacular. Very fancy -- most people wear jackets. Pasta dishes -- even main courses -- are small. But the food is excellent

Host gave us a cool reception and delayed in seating us as it's a quasi formal setting and we weren't really dressed up, but looked nice-not in jeans, etc. Only a few tables were seated- 5:30pm on a Sunday. Waiter was polite. Food was unusual varied Italian. We enjoyed the scallops, but the boar dish was oddly sauced. Chianti selection... More

I was impressed by the ambience of the restaurant and setting. The service was very attentive and professional. The food was good but lacking a bit lacking a “wow factor”. The wine selection was good and the server seemed to be quite knowledgeable about the available choice and advise us accordingly.

Happened upon this restaurant, during a cold walk in the rain on a Saturday night. The beautiful ambiance was a welcomed relief! The lighting was cozy and the tables nicely spaced for privacy. Would be great for a romantic evening. I chose simple spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce and spaghetti were delicious, but I was not impressed with the meatballs... More

I always love going to La Perla. I have never had anything but a great dining experience. ChefTesta and his staff have consistently performed. Food is wonderful as is the service. I think it is terrific that the chef will come out into the dining room and greet and talk with all the diners. It is such a personal experience.... More
