I enjoyed Bistro Du Coin very much. Upon entering, my wife commented that the décor was a bit on the cheesy side, but I didn't mind the kitsch. They've got a great menu with a lot of variety. It was a fairly busy night, but...More

Fake French. Begins with the stale tasteless bread. Escargots were gummy. My steak came out five minutes after I ordered it and before my appetizers. Sent it back. When it was time to have my main course I am pretty sure they sent back the...More

Food overly spicy. Early dinner. Had to wait longer than expected. Nothing seemed fresh and had apparently been prepared some time previously.

On the warm weather evening we ate here, the front of the restaurant was open wide, allowing the flag-festooned interior to lend a festival atmosphere to the street outside. It's a storefront restaurant and more than a little crowded and chaotic. We discussed how it...More

I this was my second visit to this establishment with more than a year apart. We enjoyed some food and wine here on a previous visit to Washington DC and had no hesitations to have another dinner here. It is a "French Bistro" so no...More

Having been recommended this Bistro by the Concierge & Doorman at my hotel we were expecting a wholesome dining experience, with friendly staff & a great atmosphere. Sadly we were very disappointed. The portion of the onion soup was small but enough, as it was...More

By chance and through friends I ate here twice in one day, the lunch was ok, I had the open faced smoked salmon, it was ok, came with a nice salad, but the appetizer size wasn't enough for lunch, I followed the sandwich with mushroom...More

Had dinner here one night after staying at the nearby Churchill Hotel. Stopped in as we were trying to relive our time in Paris last year and it looked like a cute French bistro. Staff, including bartender and owner were welcoming, informative and very pleasant....More

I have been visiting this bistro since it opened 17 years ago. The neighborhood has seen many of its restaurants come and go, and the food scene migrate east, to 14th and beyond, but this place, among a few other stalwarts, remains a food safe...More

Description
Bistrot du Coin opened its doors on Memorial Day of 2000 by Yannis Felix and Michel Verdon. The motto is French, Fun and Friendly, this is our guideline to bring you the best experience ever at Bistrot Du Coin. The word Bistrot is defined in French as a neighborhood restaurant where you can eat good food at a fair price. The typical color of a French Bistrot is pale yellow to brown (otherwise known as Bistre) because the walls used to get dirty quickly from nicotine. Bistrot Du Coin is also known for its parties, three times a year to celebrate famous French events such as Bastille day on July 14th, The Beaujolais Nouveau on the third thursday of November or The New Year's Eve.
