As anyone - who is anyone in DC knows - Cafe Milano has been an upscale, power and social status institution for decades. Bar scene is great, food is fine, service and ambiance impeccable. Most people who go here - want to "make a statement,...More

I don't choose restaurants by the clientele who frequent which by the reviews is a reason some others may. Food, service and ambiance (aka, atmosphere) are the guidelines. This is a good restaurant but not as good as its reputation. A bit too pricey for...More

Had dinner there with three colleagues. Menu is quite simple and standard 'Italian'. Food quality was very good although service was rushed and somewhat impersonal. Avoid wine list - few selections and very expensive, cant think why they would not have a broader offering. Were...More

I've dined at Café Milano for business dinners and for family related Mother's Day Brunch since about 2006. In the spring, summer and fall the dining room can be open air, which makes it especially nice in the evenings. The restaurant is not right on...More

Cafe Milano has the reputation being the" in " place for celebrities, to see and to be seen. By reading the reviews, one gets the impression that if you are the in-crowd it feels like home, if not, the place could be snooty. After being...More

We shared a simple tomato and basil spaghetti dish to start. It was excellent. The veal Milanese was pounded perfectly but lacked flavor. It was large. We should have split it as well. They continue to carry Jermann wines which a number of other DC...More

…one knows what the Café Milano will be like while walking to your table: voluble neighbours, over-lit, prompt service and predictable food. The Italian food here is deeply unimaginative and mired in a last century time-warp, the slow food movement is unknown, ingredient combinations unchanging,...More

I would say smart casual. There are always men and women in suits...I would not wear jeans to go to Caffe' Milano but you will not be turned away for wearing them.

Guests savor genuine Southern Coastal Italian cuisine in a setting reminiscent of a stylish Milan boutique. Framed designer scarves adorn the walls in a creative and colorful homage to Italian fashion. The ceiling gives way to coves of hand-painted murals celebrating Italian culture, including the stunning portrait of famed opera singer, Placido Domingo, in the room named in his honor. During warm-weather months, the front wall of floor-to-ceiling windows open onto an outdoor sidewalk patio, adding a touch of Northern Italy to the Georgetown streetscape, creating one of the most sought after dining spots in Washington. Since owner Franco Nuschese blazed onto the DC dining scene over twenty years ago, Cafe Milano has been a power center for diplomats, politicians, journalists, broadcasters, lobbyists, entertainers, and all who enjoy fine Italian food and gracious attentive service.
