We did an early Valentine's Day celebration (2 couples) on 2/13. Intimate setting. Warm and inviting. Lovely decorations. Jacket recommended. Even though we were sat at a table in the middle of the front room, it had a very cozy feel and conversations could be had at a low volume. Wine list and beers exhaustive in a good way. Knowledgeable... More

The food here is absolutely excellent. However, it really is not worth the expense. Despite being delicious, the food comes in very small portions and is incredibly overpriced. Even for a very nice restaurant, which 1789 is, I couldn't believe how much they were charging for such small plates. My advice: If you're paying, eat somewhere else.

Warm, cozy environment with small portions, but very tasty food. We were impressed by the creative presentation of all the courses. Perfect for any special occasion or romantic dinner. Service was exceptional by friendly wait staff.

My husband booked us here for Valentine's Day Dinner. They had their full menu and a pre fixed option.. We opted for the regular menu since we had not been there before. The food was Excellent, I had the lamb which was great. And my husband had the Sirloin which was good as well. The food did take a while... More

A great place to bring a client or a special occasion. I brought a friend of mine who was a also a potential partner and neither of us had been there before. The menu had really good choices as they promote the fixed course theme with outstanding choices. I would have rated it 5 stars if the portion sizes were... More

We had a wonderful dinner at 1789, which we used as the location to celebrate our engagement. The combination of food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. The menu is prix fixe, but is presented in a very flexible way--in other words, you're asked to pick whether you want a 4, 5 or 6 course meal, but you can mix and... More

We went for restaurant week and because this is such a high priced place the RW portions were smaller than their normal entree size. That aside, everything about the food and drinks was heavenly. Literally little bites of heaven with each taste. My hubby and I are planning to go back for our 1st anniversary coming up in a couple... More

We walked from the university area to the restaurant. It was a lovely long walk! However it was worth it. It was a special evening and this was the restaurant for such an event. The cocktails, food, wine and service were excellent. The ambience of the setting was perfect for the group . The waiters were very attentive and helpful.... More

An upscale fine dining restaurant, it is a good place to treat your closest friends. The interior deco is unique, so is the food, the service is great and first class.

I had sweetbreads with Maine scallops and this was a meal I will remember and savored simply great. My grandson and son tried venison and thought it to be wonderful. My wife and daughter-in-law raved about the striped bass and my granddaughter enjoyed halibut. For desert the adults tried a concoction called "The White Album" it was a coconut sorbet... More
