Highlands was recommended for brunch by my daughter after my grandson's football game . We visited last Sat Sept 15th and what a pleasant surprise! Quaint, clean, Cozy with reasonable prices. I loved the mural and friendly ambience. I had the polenta with eggs and mushroom, but ended up eating from my granddaughters chicken and waffles! The best waffles I've... More

Looking for a place for breakfast/brunch and read some reviews about Highlands Cafe so checked it out on a week day morning. There were five of us. The place is not large. There was outdoor seating but it was way too hot. There were no tables for five - or even close - available. The woman who greeted me, said... More

Have been here for breakfast and lunch multiple times. I have never had a bad meal, and the folks who work there/own the place are always pleasant. No surprise that this place has lasted and has a loyal following. A neighborhood gem.

Visited twice in June. Shrimp po boy was sooooo good. Tasted the chicken, delicious. Serves adult drinks so that's a plus. Great prices. Small and hear it's very crowded on weekends. Week nights it's great

Across from a Metro bus garage, this is one of the best local diner/type places in DC. The menu is diverse with a mix of Latin and Caribbean inspired dishes, plus standard American fare. The Cubano sandwich, crab cakes, fried green tomatoes are all standouts. And you can get a hearty breakfast until 3 in the afternoon. It's a friendly,... More

They have never missed. Everything is great there especially the shrimp linguini. Cozy little spot where everyone goes, great place to catch up with people you haven't seen in a while and the best part of it, is that it is a neighborhood spot.

They worked with us for a recent private event. We had a group from out of town and the owner of the house we rent highly recommended Highlands and Moe. I am so glad she did! The food was delicious and it was so nice to have a private space for our group dinner. We plan to frequent Highlands whenever... More
