Pretty good restaurant. Food was prepared fine and presented nicely. Service was friendly. We found the lunch menu to have a good selection but it's pretty pricey for lunch ($150 for a family of five) but it's D.C... everything is pretty pricey.

Our last night on vacation ended with one of the best experiences of the trip as far as food goes. Our server was very informative and very personable he explained the menu and had great suggestions. We had the candied bacon lollipops for an appetizer...More

I was so looking forward to eating at Founding Farmers during our short stay in DC. We had a reservation for lunch at 1:30 on a Saturday and the place was slammed. We were seated pretty quickly and decided on corn bread to start. It...More

I've been to Founding Farmers before, but never for brunch. I figured given its location, it might be popular, and boy am I glad I made a reservation beforehand. The place was packed, with about 20-30 people waiting outside in the heat. I'm not really...More

Nice options, really good flavor mixtures and textures. The drinks were good and the food came out quickly. Everything seemed fresh, without that greasy frozen taste. Would recommend to anyone.

I have celiac disease and knew I might be limited here but recommended the restaurant to my wife since I thought we would enjoy it. The best thing here was the drinks. I could not have the shrimp & grits (not gf...not sure why) and...More

We had a later evening reservation that the staff "could not accommodate earlier". Each time we would call for a reservation, for brunch or dinner, the staff would be wed to their online computer system. Yes, this is popular restaurant. But other equally popular establishments...More

We always get the cornbread. My favorite dish is the black pepper gnocchi but this time I tried out the shrimp sundried tomato bucatini. Delicious but the gnocchi is still the best. The farmer jon cocktail is amazing! Light and refreshing. Hubs got the chicken...More

9-2. Make a reservation even on a weekday. I made one the night before for a Friday morning & was very glad I did. The wait would have been 45 min. Without the reservation.

I did not check the gluten free menu. They probably did have those selections.

Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
