We went to grab something to eat after a day of museum visits. The food was pretty okay: a run-of-the-mill barbecue sandwich and burger. It felt overpriced for what we received. The staff was not particularly helpful when it came to figuring out where to order (apparently at the bar when you have to eat outside). They seemed relatively inattentive regarding drink refills and we probably won't be coming back.

Maybe it was an off day, but we went for a quick lunch mid-week when we got in to town. The tator tots were FANTASTIC, which is why the rating is as high as it is. Otherwise, the pork belly mac n cheese was doused in tart bbq sauce that overpowered the taste and the salad was meh. But this is a bar isn’t it? Yes, well the drinks were fine. Expectations set a bit high for the price, but this is really just bland pub food. Nothing to write home about.

Good location, great service and very nice seatings. The food however is not something to write home about. The pizza was probably one of the worst we ever had, the mash potatoes was dry and the meat was stiff . The bear and water were the only good parts of the meal.

The food was ok, but you have to order everything on your phone and pay as you go, so the servers have very little to do, but, yet you are still expected to tip 20%. We had one server that was so angry he threw my nephew’s dessert at him, and ice cream was tossed everywhere. Every time he brought food to the table he seemed disgusted. We paid almost $500 for 8 people and no way was it worth this. It was awful and the customer takes on the entire burden doing it all on their phone. Avoid this place. So not worth it. Terrible evening,

They are known for the really great tater tots, so don't miss those. The tots are light and crunchy and delicious and you can get them with a lot of different toppings. The basket of tots at happy hour is huge and a great bargain. The other food is just ok, nothing amazing. The honey-roasted beet salad is nice. The mac & cheese burger is very good, probably the best thing on the menu. The Foggy Bottom fried chicken sandwich is not bad. The service was a bit uneven, as our drinks all came out at different times and the food took a little long, and then no one asked about refills on drinks until we were almost done. It's pretty obvious that this is a college hang-out with some stand-out dishes, but mostly just average food.

This looked like a fun neighborhood spot. We chose it because of its proximity to the Kennedy Center. It has a funky, eclectic atmosphere and it looks like it hosts lots of fun events. We were seated and saw that we were to order on our phones which seemed fun and easy. We ordered appetizers, drinks and dinner. A nice selection of non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and tater tots seemed to be a thing! Prices overall seemed fair. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken sandwich. The chicken was so tough that I had to remove it from the sandwich and cut it with a knife. Appetizers were fine, as were the drinks. BUT- pay close attention to your bill! Besides tax, there is a surcharge, tip (already added in for you) AND an additional tip! I asked a server about all this, and she said they could be changed-although she did not say how. Not hard to figure out, though. If I hadn't payed attention, it would have come to over 30%! Orders were done by the app and the server checked on us once. Seems excessive for less service than you get at other restaurants. Water glasses were refilled promptly, to be sure. It appears that you don't have to use your phone to order-maybe there aren't as many "extra" charges and you get real personalized service. Would we go back? Maybe, but would not make it high on the list.

After a self guided tour of the monuments we went looking for a cheeseburger and literally came across this place on our way to another. How lucky for us to have been flexible with our plans. We had the best burger and fries ever. All completely enhanced by our server experience. Anastasia K was the best server on the planet today! Thank you for a great meal!!!

Tonic is a good option for food for those in the Foggy Bottom area. The food can be a hit or miss but is often on the better side. I highly recommend the Tim’s Chicken Tots with BBQ sauce. Tonic is also mainly known for their tater tots. It is an absolute must whether you get their Totchos (tater tot nachos) or just a side of tots. In terms of setting Tonic is in a great location and has indoor and outdoor seating. It’s often filled with working professionals during lunch and happy hour. During dinner you’ll often see GW students as Tonic is in the center of GW’s campus. Overall Tonic has good food and is a good fun option for those looking to enjoy a meal out.

We found this place on 4th July and jolly glad we did. Had four massive burgers all cooked exactly as we asked and delivered to us on a pleasant outdoor table. Waitress Ellie was also prompt and friendly and sorted out problem of ordering online as we didn’t have a US credit card/address. Tater tots and cookies were also brilliant.

We discovered this restaurant after a full days walking The National Mall. We wanted a cold drink to rest our legs. Our waiter was like a breath of fresh air. Our drinks were ice cold and we had a basket of Tater tots (something we don’t get in the UK). I think we will make a return visit before we go home.

Dropped by for a late lunch because it was convenient and was pleasantly surprised that the food was good. I had the caprese salad (which is not actually a true caprese salad--it's a lettuce based salad with tomatoes and mozarella) and it was tasty. My companion had the veggie curry bowl, which was really tasty, and I'm not usually that into yellow curry. The service was fine and the atmosphere was also good.

My daughter’s friend told us about Tonic and I’m glad she did! We had a blood orange margarita that was good. I had fried fish tacos and they were really good!! Tater tots with three separate sipping sauces for an appetizer. The sauces were all very good! My mom had pulled pork sandwich that was huge and she said was very good. Dessert was six chocolate chip cookies. Staff was very friendly.

Had a great time at our dinner on Sat night. Back yard with the lights and heat lamps was just what we were looking for after walking around the GW area. Waitstaff was super friendly. My friend and I both had fish tacos and we were raving about them. Teens loved the "mocktails". The indoor decor was charming too. Wish I lived nearby. I would frequent!

I was walking got lost and say their garden lights so stopped in fir lunch. Had a really good taco salad and the lolita cocktail which was yummy. I really like the interior decor, perfect for this university district. The host wasnt great and probably shouldn't be the first contact people should have as he couldn't be nice or smile if he tried but my waiter jose was very nice and friendly.

We ate there on Sunday early evening. Food is good and tasty, reasonably priced. Service efficient and nice. Unfortunately, they did not have crab cakes which I wanted to try. I chose salmon instead and it was quite good.
