Stopped by late on a week night to celebrate a friends birthday and RPM did not disappoint! Food, service, and ambiance 5 stars all the way. The restaurant group had a restaurant week to follow their Chicago flagship location so I knew I had to make reservations. For the appetizers, we ordered the wagyu beef carpaccio, 600 day aged prosciutto, Bianco pizza, prime beef meatballs, and truffle garlic bread. Not every thing is made in house and the carpaccio, prosciutto and garlic bread are a must order. The truffle aioli with the wagyu beef was heaven. The prosciutto and meatballs were just on another level. If you love pizza you've got to order the Bianco's. Imagine seeing a bunch of adults fighting for the last piece. Well that was us! For dinner, we decided to order a couple of pastas. Now pasta dishes are around 4 oz so if you plan to order don't expect large quantities for family style. We had the spicy king crab squid ink spaghetti, pappardelle bolognese, Mama Depandi's bucatini and the prosciutto tortelloni. We all agreed the bucatini was our favorite. The thick spaghetti-like pasta with basil and in house made tomato sauce was fire. Highly recommend saving yourself some room for dessert. We had the bomboloni, tiramisu, chocolate torta, hazelnut tartufo. The tartufo was an elevated Ferrero Rocher. I loved the torta it was so rich with the ganache and the chocolate bottom layer was delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. With current Covid conditions they had sanitizing stations all around the restaurant. The entire staff was wearing masks and making sure tables were 6 ft apart. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other pastas and the famous torta meringata. Thank you again RPM for making our experience memorable!

Solid good food, good service and a fun atmosphere although a bit noisy for the more elderly. A great new treat for DC. I was taken here a while ago and thought we must try it again. Generally, everything is good. I am picky, as you must have noted by now, and the Carpaccio is still too thickly cit for me. However, RPM gets away with this as it is delicious. The spicy king crab spaghetti is very good, the Tartufo amazing and the pistachio ice cream (while not particularly well presented) is yummy. Well done! Even valet parking allows you to notify the valet when you are about to leave so that the car is on the doorstep. A real valet service in DC - Bravo!

I had dinner one night and lunch the next. Every dish is fresh and unique. Try the Pasta Bolognese Ragu. Wide noodles perfectly prepared and the beef ragu was hearty and delicious. For lunch, arugula salad, sea bass and chocolate dessert. Tasty. Excellent service.

I have rated this 5 stars previously but definitely not anymore. I have been there more than 7 times before and recommended the place to many friends. However, I went there with my mother this past weekend to celebrate her birthday and to my surprise, we were seated at a cocktail table in the bar area instead of the main dining room despite our reservation. They basically treated the bar area into a dining room and didn’t bother to let me know in advance that is where our 'table’ would be reserved. I was very disappointed, as I wanted my mother to experience RPM dining, and not RPM bar scene with loud music and a crowded space. I felt cheated, and also felt robbed of the occasion to make my mother feel comfortable, special and classy. Had RPM been honest about being overbooked instead of misleading us into thinking we have a reservation, I would have gone to a different restaurant like Fogo or Fiola in DC and have a real dining experience. I will not be visiting for special occasions anymore and treat this as an average spot to grab a bite, and will also not bother to dress up and instead walk-in wearing jeans and a shirt to match the bar crowd and hospitality expected.

This is one of those sleek, modern restaurants that can be found in any big city in the U.S. It’s the kind of a place where execs woo important clients, but if your meal is not on someone else’s expense account, you might want to move on… or stop, depending on whether you like my advice and continue to read. This is where I need to swallow my negativity and say that there is another way to navigate this place without blowing up your budget. Here goes. When you enter RPM from the street go to the right into the bar area, sit on a stool, choose a glass of red and order the Porcini Risotto (pray it’s on the menu). It’s a way to have your risotto and eat it too without all the bells and whistles in the dining room. We all know how challenging it is to find a restaurant risotto that doesn’t have the consistency of porridge, so when it arrives and it’s perfectly done, you might be glad you stopped and didn’t move on. And ordering other Ala carte plates from bar menu might turn out to be a treasure trove of possibilities. I still believe that you should avoid the main dining room though, unless you’re being hosted by your investment team.

We had a reservation at this horrible place, but due to earlier arrival we were offered a seat only at the bar place - even later when our time has come were were NOT transferred to the previously booked area. The food is awful: a blend of American garbage-junk food with Italian look. If you have never trued eggplants before and your first time would be there, so you would hate it for sure (close to vomiting afer trying it). Probably the smallest oysters I have ever seen as served at any restaurant, for the price of extra large ones you can sample at civilized places. The service was nice, but you do not go to a restaurant for a service, you go for good food mostly, which you can NOT expect there.

I previously wrote a review for RPM in June 2018 and gave it 5 stars and have chosen to celebrate many special occasions at RPM over the last few years. A group of 6 of us (including my husband and I) dined at RPM on 10/17/20 for my husband's birthday and it was one of the worst dining experiences ever. Yes, with COVID precautions in place, expectations should be more forgiving. We were dining outdoors but the food was bland, underseasoned, and cold. On top of it all, finding a hair in your steak, waiting 30 minutes for drinks, and just overall horrendous service from a clearly poorly trained server named Devon was just unexcusable. The manager for the evening replaced the steak that had hair in it with a tiny filet minon that was given to us in a to go bag. Never returning to RPM.

Food ranged from good to delicious, hence my three star rating...but two less stars for the generally very very slow service, even by covid standards, and for the price tag. First, we had to wait 20 minutes for a reservation seating. Second, we had to wait an additional 20 minutes for someone to take our order, and, finally, an additional 15 minutes for our first alcoholic drink. The service staff were very nice when present, but simply too too slow.

I had a solo dinner here but the waiter was so kind and friendly, it did not feel awkward. There is happy hour until 7 pm and I had fried olives, oysters and a truffle mushroom pizza. The appetizers were all just ok but the highlight of the meal was the spicy crab pasta. I highly recommend the spicy crab pasta: the squid ink pasta was cooked al dente. I think it could have used more spice, so I added Tabasco and lemon. Omg, so good I wanted to lick the plate. Very small portion though. I also dined at the RPM in Chicago so you can say I’m a fan! Please open one up in NYC! Thanks!

Celebrated my birthday here and Jose took care of us from start to finish. At one point I requested a different type of pasta that wasn’t even on the menu and they gladly made it for me. I wanted a bucatini with olive oil and garlic, and the chef nailed it! Also, we brought our own wine which sadly turned out to be less than ideal so the sommelier helped me find a few other options that replaced our corked wine. He was so thoughtful, engaging and excited about wine! This place has done an awesome job with social distancing and ensuring the safety of its customers and we felt very comfortable. Highly recommend the lobster ravioli, butternut squash angolotti and the bucatini pomodoro. Lastly, Jose went above and beyond bringing us two amazing desserts which we weren’t expecting (two adorable vanilla peach ice cream cone bites, and one pot du chocolat). Can’t wait to come back to RPm and celebrate again! We will return soon!!!

Wonderful Italian restaurant! Be prepared for seamless customer service, delectable meals, fancy interiors. Excellent price - quality ratio! I loved your Caesar salad, the anchovy mayo was immaculate. ( if possible I will order it without an anchovy fillet on the top of the salad), it was way too strong and distracted my palette. Pasta Carbonara was absolutely stunning! Good job!

This is one of the best italian restaurants i have ever visited in the US, besides the fantastic food the service is absolutely wonderful (Daniel the waitress was an absolute professional) with great atmosphere around. I can recommend the white pizza, the spaghetti measball and the salmon fish for main course. It’s also worth mentioning that the food prices are reasonable - about 250$ for 4 hungry adults excluding alcohol. Highly recommend!

Came alone, sat at the bar. The bartender was extremely uncommunicative and seemed to be more interested in the dog competition presented on the TV than the customers. I ordered a spaghetti with shrimps and a glass of wine which were descent. But the service ? Oh … here I was up for a surprise ! The untrust level of the restaurant in the customers made them ask for a credit card in advance to open a tap, but as this was not humiliating enough they actually keep the credit cards of all their bar customers in a special “box” at the bar for their entire stay !!! This is the first time I encountered this behavior, but if it is a new trend, then it is not a legitimate one … if you don’t trust your customers don’t be in this business, and even if you are, be more vigilant, don’t ever let the customers feel it ! I entered this establishment in order to pass few hours eating and drinking, due to their so called “policy” I left in 30 minutes after finishing my initial order and moved down the street to “farmers distillers” who know how to treat their customers and from where I left with a smile second night in a row.

This is an italian restaurant with a strange addition of high end steak choices. The menu is full of pasta dishes which are very small and robbery related to portion and cost. Just because this is in the district does not mean it has to cost a months salary. Traditional Italian like marsala and picata are nowhere to be found and the kitchen was unwilling to accommodate. As a result chicken parm it was......very average at best. I would not have come here had it not been a group outing and I would NEVER return. I work hard for my money and spending it all at one dinner for small portions and little choice on the menu is not what makes a good outing. Shameful!

Fist trip back to DC in almost a year due to COVID and picked coldest couple of days in a few years. Fortunately RPM was located across the street from my hotel and they had a tented area with heat and took advantage of that. I will say that for both the indoor and outdoor eating, the COVID measure that they have in place were outstanding. Temperature checks, social distancing markings, table placements, etc. We enjoyed it so much that we ate there both nights that we were in DC. I can highly recommend the Burrata, San Daniele Prosciutto, Fresh Homemade Ricotta, Pappardelle Bolognese, Prosciutto Tortelloni, Filet Mignon, Bone-In Ribeye, Chicken Parmesan, Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Garlic-Whipped Potatoes. The Gelato is excellent as well! I will caution that it is on the pricier side, but well worth the cost.
