Hoban’s fit the bill to a tee. Lunch was inexpensive but great. Try the potato leek soup! The selection of whiskies and beers satisfies a variety of tastes. Servers attend to your meds without hovering. It’s a quiet and calm atmosphere... of course, there was...More

Although this is a good place to get Irish food, we were not impressed with the prices and thought that you could get a better quality for the prices we paid. If you are looking to pay similar prices, I am sure you could get...More

We went twice with friends to have some Irish beers. The fries and onion rings, as the flatbreads, were delicious. The environment was noisy enough, but you can talk without shouting. I recommend this place if you are in Dupont area.

The $10 lunch special was OK. The soup was heavily spiced so not what I expect to taste for leek and potato. The chicken pot pie was good with chunks of real chicken in it and a very tasty pastry top. The wine Matua's Sav...More

Description
James Hoban's proudly offers guests a modern day taste of Ireland. We have endeavored to bring to Washington a flavor of today's Ireland, with a look that presents our most cherished traditional aspects yet also displays modern Ireland's strong European culinary influences. But while Great Irish cuisine comes naturally at James Hoban's, a very memorable dining experience is about more than the food. It's when the warm host, witty bartender, and savvy waiter treat you like family. It's the live music, the strong drinks, and the great company, all in our nation's capital. Stop by for a pint or a plate and experience what has been called a "neighborhood gem" and "warmth in the heart of Dupont."
