We came here as it was recommend by our Lonely Planet guide. FOOD It was good, tasty, nicely presented; they really try and make an effort of presentation. The menu offers all kind of things from meat, fish, ... We paid a total of 41 CUC for two mains, two starters and two drinks. Its fairly expensive but then the... More

Had to wait to be seated and were asked to sit in the bar area until a table became free. Told 5 mins which in Cuba means 30mins but actually after 10 we were sat down, so a pleasant surprise. It is very smart inside and the service is a little quicker than normal (which is slow by western standards),... More

Quirky restaurant with a unique ambiance and a prime location in Plaza Mayor. Out of curiosity, read the history of the house in the first page of the menu. Gluten free options exist however not for the seafood cream that so caught my attention initially. I instead opted for a tomato soup, which was not what I expected, both in... More

Sol Ananda is one of the growing number of paradores in Trinidad and is situated in an old colonial mansion just off the main square. Furnishings are quirky and original - in one room there is a bed next to the tables- which adds to its charm. But it can be patchy. The first time we went we had garlic... More

An old house bang on the corner of the Plaza Mayor which used to be a museum (one of the rooms even has an antique double bed), and eating there really is like going back to late colonial times. The place was beautifully decorated with table settings which would have graced a posh hotel. It was as well that we... More

Another funky place to eat in Trinidad. The food is great and the service is great (once you are seated). So, definitely eat here! When you arrive, it is not clear that the waiting room (for a table) is actually in the back down some stairs. ( A host, or Maitre d' would help in this regard). It can be... More

Pleasant decor and ambiance, menu offers different choices, including spaghetti, good for a change from the usual bean, meat and rice. Overall a good restaurant on the main city square

Far pricier (though still pretty reasonable), and far better and more imaginative than most local fare. Nonetheless, the food was not exceptional. My dish of chicken with cassava was delicate but not very sophisticated, as was my seafood soup. I had a mint and ginger drink that I loved, and that was so gingery it almost blew my head off... The restaurant is in one of the oldest houses in Trinidad that has been well restored and furnished with great taste. Location tight on the Plaza Major. The food is imaginative and better than most in Trinidad. The setting for the meal is just great. It's a pity that the service is so slow and uncoordinated, even if it's very... More

The House is created like a Musuem of a typical 19th century home and the dining tables are part of it. Great selection of interesting dishes, the value-for-money is good. Very good and friendly service.
