Lovely cosy restaurant. Good food and wine and excellent service. Highly recommended are the oysters and the local Riesling.

Three couples away for a weekend in Akaroa and we were lucky to secure a late table into the Little Bistro. The dinner wine and the company was exceptional and thoroughly enjoyed by us all. Only issue was, when we arrived a table of 6 ladies were eating and all were talking at once which made it extremely difficult to... More

Important to note the word 'little' in the restaurant name is literal as this restaurant is tiny. Was a squeeze between tables to even get to the toilet (nowhere to even put a handbag, not even a hook behind the door). I am pleased to see online that there has been some adjustments to the menu since we were there... More

Hi odette858, Thanks for taking the time to write a review, we appreciate all customer feedback. Your right we don't have tomato ketchup and after the 4th time of demanding it, surprisingly we still don't. Were not to everyones tastes, having sold over 2000 sole in the last 12 weeks, and not one complaint, ill take your review with a... More

Our family of four (both kids 10+ which is required) enjoyed a delicious meal in this small but impressive restaurant. Snails and scallops for entrees, Beef, Lamb and Salmon for mains. All were well cooked with beautiful flavours. We didn't need desert but managed to share two between the four of us. I recommend the TLB Mess!

This is a small old building with character and space for only twenty-six diners. Children are not permitted. The floors are bare, the furniture simple, the flavour very Parisian. Perhaps because of the ban on children, the noise level was not bothersome. There was an extensive list of excellent wines. For the entrée, we had scallops and black pudding. This... More

This is a small and popular restaurant, make sure you book in advance. We had bread and olives for starters (we couldn't eat them all as we needed room for the other courses). Both were tasty and generous in size. I had the salmon main and my partner had the lamb. Both meals were excellent. We had creme brulee for... More

We were late arriving at Akaroa and by chance found this charming Bistro. The food was of good quality and the service excellent. Would love to visit again and would recommend.

The Little Bistro is really little. I counted less than 10 tables? They were fully booked for dinner but were able to accomodate us for an early dinner provided we left before 8pm. Tried the escargot in puff pastry, the little neck clams in saffron sauce, the lamb and the beef. Meal for 2 including a glass of wine came... More

We turned up with no booking and sure enough it was fully booked. However we were offered one of the outdoor tables and we were happy with that. The food was superb, probably one of the best salmon dishes we have ever tried. The service was brilliant and we really enjoyed the small conversations with the staff during our visit... More
