We visited Cafe Verne after work for a few beers. Cheap, cold draft pilsner on a beautiful outdoor Bratislava evening - what's not to like?? I had the duck as well - which was very tasty. Only one downside - they don't take credit cards. So we walked to a nearby ATM for some euros. Otherwise a very enjoyable evening.

Menu offers variety of home-style food - Slovak dumplings, baked potatoes, goulash, savory pancakes, beef, pork, bean soup, etc. The interior design is darker, relaxed and there is always pleasant music. Waiters are experienced and ready to recommend you the best of their offer.

just opposite savoy restaurant it is quite an old building with outside seating and down stairs. The food is really rather good - mainly Slovak with a cracking beef stroganoff. Very reasonable and no nonsense service. Recommended when you want to have hearty food

We were a little disappointed. Prices low, beer good, but average food. Soups correct, but the main courses were a bit tired, they were too greasy. The duck was probably warmed up. Rather for coffee. A little student climate. If you are looking for Slovakian food, look elsewhere.

Beers are ok in rathet low prices. Food is more expensive like most restaurants in bratislava. There are tables outside looking at a big square where carlton hotel is.

The food was great. My husband liked the dark beer. It has quite a bohemian atmosphere. We really enjoyed it. Seem popular with local so can't be bad.

The atmosphere is very unique and homey, We went there for lunch and we had the squid pasta with shrimps which was great for only 7 euros. Yes you red that right. Only 7 EUROS. And man they were good. Not overdone with a lovely garlic sauce and fried shrimps. We also had the {i cannot remember the name} a... More

We wanted to go where locals go and have a reasonably priced, nice meal. During our week we had already experienced more than ten local restaurants, including excellent gems but also some embarrassing tourist traps. We had great expectations, as our local airbnb host had recommended this place. We had a couple of hours for a dinner before going to... More

We found this nice little place by chance. There is just a doorway on the street and steps leading down to the basement cafe. It was busy when we arrived for lunch. It seemed to be frequented mainly by young locals. There is a good selection of Slovak food available and the menu is reasonably priced. We had the Hungarian... More

Food is good and prices are fair.. But the waiters there are particularly rude (as in most of Slovakia, there is a big problem with uneducation and rudness): 1. We were 12 people having lunch and they forgot to serve one of us until 20 minutes later 2. Once Paying, and after some of us had payed, the waiter told... More
