Everything about Macok is perfect. The whole place was booked for the evening (no surprise), so we sat outside even though the weather was kind of chilly. Didn't matter. The food and service (and wine) were stellar. Can't wait to go back.

I've been there with my friends during our visit in Eger in August 2017. Good location and polite staff helped us decide to stay there.we have ordered beer which was ice cold and then some food. Menu is very interesting and offer great variety of...More

The marhapofa is top, in the centre of the city the best restaurant in my view. Cannot wait to go back.

Some other reviewers pan this place for lack of service or wait times. I think everything was delicious and worth the wait. Our waiter informed us of a possible delay in getting our meals and it seemed about on par with most restaurants that make...More

We decided to go after friends recommendations and definitely it was good decision. Food was good and served in nice way. However definitely could be better.

Went there a week ago. I was not feeling really well and asked for sprite/7up but apparently they did not have. Also I asked for a portion of fries only, but the waiter insisted that it is not possible only if I get it with...More

The food was not bad, the choices nonetheless was a quite limited since they run out of food (only floating island left for deserts)... The waiter was really rude, we felt really unwelcome. I would definitely not recommend this place.

After visiting Macok last summer I was very happy to return this year and further explore the menu. They have made a name for themselves by taking traditional dishes and turning them into something new and exciting, and that is why I was happy to...More

Dear Chef! You are so wasting your time! The food you prepare is fabulous, alas... After eating seconds and finishing our first glass of wine we waited 20 minutes for anyone to come. Anyone. I was thinking of ordering desserts and some more drinks but...More

Food was delicious, wine was local and staff were polite and helpful. We dined outside next to a water feature and the table comfortably accommodated 9 adults and a baby. Decor was modern, clean and bright. Would highly recommend, this dining experience to anyone planning...More

Description
Our Restaurant, the Macok Bistro and Wine Bar is a jaunty and youthful restaurant where international dishes are presented in local style with wine specialties which can be found only in the cellars of enthusiastic collectors. Our Restaurant is located in the downtown, exactly at the Castle’s entrance. By sitting in our terrace you can take part in the living history of Eger. We are making foods with the biggest attention and care, and serving the courses in this way to the Guests. We like to call up the traditional, old-fashioned tastes, however we rethink the corses’ appearance. The commodities are from the area’s small producers, who make and breed us the best materials, for example the trout from Szilvásvárad, cheese specialties from the Bükk, homemade noodles, etc. Our goals have reached with reanimating the life in the city and creating a lovable place where generations may enjoy the foods and wines like they are at home, but a business meeting can going by in an informal atmosphere. The restaurant waits children with separate menu and toys, thus parents can relax. Our cozy patio is a famous meeting place for groups of friends and turists also. The patio fill with life when we organize gastronomical occasions. Everybody who take part in this market atmosphere events get unforgettable experiences with tasty wines and special foods. The Hotel (which belongs to the Restaurant) is ideal for travellers who can’t miss tasty wines and it is also perfect for meetings and trainings. We are welcome those who would like to eat delicious foods at Eger, and after that talking even with us on the couch streched out while sipping some wine.
